Default Looking For A Few Good Exercises..

This is really for anyone that has any suggestions.. I do my workout at home.. I have a stability ball.. a pair of 5 lb weights.. A thigh toner.. The resistance bands and also the stretch things that are like tubes, Im not sure exactly what they're called.. But what Im looking for is this.. I need to tighten up my upper arm.. The little flab that hangs down.. Ive toned up alot with push ups and things like that but Im looking for a little more.. Also my inner thigh and my belly.. LOL.. I have done a million crunches and its not going anywhere at all.. And my inner thighs, I do the thigh toner and things like that and Im just wondering if there's anything else that would give me faster results.. Any suggestions??

Hi, I posted a similar question yesterday and so far no replies. I was thinking it must be a problem for a lot of people. I even asked my husband last night if he thought it was just empty skin or if I could tone up. He seems to think I can tone up - but he is EXTREMELY against surgery.
From what I can tell it looks like general weight loss is the only thing to trim down the arms, and the pushups and stuff will help tone the muscle. Hopefully the skin will begin to form around the muscle rather than hang. Do you do yoga at all? I was thinking of taking it up because it looks like a great workolut for strength.
Let me know what works for you, maybe we can motivate each other, sounds like we have all the same problem areas!

Hi! Ive posted a few questions and no reply at all.. But as far as Yoga goes, no I havent tried it.. I have a Yoga and Pilates DVD but I havent tried it at all, maybe I should.. My Husband says that I should give it time and it will begin to show more.. I have no problem with my biceps.. Its my triceps that I just cant seem to get toned up any.. They have a little bit, but not much.. Just like my stomach.. My abs have tightened.. Ive actually lost a few inches the past few weeks but my lower abdominals that I just cant get to move anywhere.. I got 200 crunches every day.. Ive looked up different exercises and I watch what I eat but still not much movement in that area at all.. My inner thigh, I wont even go there, it seems I do so many exercises but yet they're still just there, you know?

Definitely include cardio along with all your toning/strength excercises. You need to burn off any extra fat to see those muscles!

I have a friend who lost a lot of wieght by doing pilates and swimming. Her arms are amazing from swimming. Maybe you can try that. But then you need a pool but she swears by swimming and pilates. My thighs are disgusting right now so I have been trying to get some exercises for that. I have been hiking up a lot of hills and doing lunges and squats. I hope this helps.

I find tricep extensions the best with the toning bands and pushups against the wall for me because I have a shoulder problem and if I do them any other way it hurts my shoulder. For the abs pilates is the best thing and I also use an old fashioned door knob exerciser that works great! It was the best $5 I've ever spent. Of course you can build muscle but you won't see it unless you watch what you eat. Cardio is always an important addition too. Recently I just started to do cross training. I have serveral 10 minute workout videos that I use. I will do 10 minutes on my Orbitrek (elliptical) then a 10 minute toning tape then another 10 minute cardio workout followed by 10 minute ab routine. If I can't get the 40 minutes in I just do 20 minutes or 30 minutes depending on my schedule. You can also break these down throughout the day. You might not be able to do a full 30 or 40 minute workout all at one time but you can do 10 minutes for the most part!

I also think that I want results immediately, so that is hard. I do my workout in the morning and look in the mirror like it will be different than yesterday. I feel like the guy in those commercials that gets on the scale, then runs around the gym & gets back on the scale & hits it cause it didn't change!

Heh, know exactly what you mean, I identify completely with that commercial(note to self: get up and do some cardio while I'm watching these silly tv programs). Think everyones on to the right track though, diet and cardio to take off the fat and some kind of strength training (yoga/swimming/pilates/etc) to tone the muscles. I think the important thing is there are no quick results, I've heard that even doing a daily strength training activity you would still not see results for 2-4 weeks. Good luck though and stick with it, I know I'm tryin!
