I just joined this forum - Gosh there is just so much to read and absorb. Not sure if there is even anyone my age here (hence my "name"). I am 56 y/o and 7 1/2 years ago, lost 100 1/2 lbs. I broke my leg last year, which (obviously) limited my activities and later, (like now), the intensity at which I can exercise. After maintaining the original loss until about a year ago, I find myself up 23 lbs. and really unhappy. I have finally rehabbed myself back to doing almost all cardio activities (can even run for 1-2 minutes 2-3X in 30-40 mins. of cardio sessions again and feel so happy. Monday, I just started my weight loss program: no fooling around! I plan to lose those 23 pounds as well as 11% body fat by mid-April, when people where I live start wearing less clothing! LOL. I'm using a (yikes!) low fat, low carb diet, alternating "high" days and "low" days. (On high days, I can have low glycemic carbs in moderation up until noon plus veggies and protein, and, on low days, just veggies with low-fat protein.) Each day, I get to have four meals and if hungry, I can grab an Isopure protein drink. I've lost 5-8 pounds doing this before, and it works well for me. I just have to "get" my head zoned into it. Additionally, I'll do the weights thing 4X week, boxing (yeah, weird for an old lady, but I love it!) and cardio 6X week. Hard, but I know I can do this, especially since I found this great forum. I hope it's OK to report, cause I know it will help. And I hope I can be of help too. I know how hard it is to maintain lost weight for a long time. I was morbidly obese since childhood and was just very determined after the last diet that I would never have to lose weight again. It almost happened, but at least I didn't gain it all back. I'm so glad to be here. Sorry this is so long. Good to meet you all. N2L
