Hi, I happened to see this thread and since I have suffered in the past from terrible tennis elbow, I thought I'd give my 2 cents. I continued to lift through tennis elbow until it was so bad I could not even use my arm. I finally went to physical therapy and over 4 months, my elbow improved, but very slowly.
My advice is to do some forearm muscle exercises using a 1 or 2 lb. weight. Just hold the weight in your hand and rest your forearm on your leg so your hand hangs over your knee. Then lift the weight up and down by bending your wrist. Do 20 reps. Do this twice a day and your tennis elbow will hopefully improve. My doctor told me that there is no scientific proof that these exercises help you heal more quickly, but I know in my situation they made me so much stronger and eventually the tennis elbow did heal & has not come back. I continue to do my exercises every day, however.
Good Luck!!!
