Back again. Thought I would start the new thread while I was here. It will make it easier to remember where I left off. Sorry it's not as pretty as the happy holidays one. See ya later.
Thin, it is killing me that we aren't going to get to meet, but I totally understand. Now, if your trip was next week when I was going to be in Vegas anyway, we would have to find a way to hook up! I still think we should vote a Spring Fling in Vegas. It is cheap to fly to, room rates are incredibly reasonable if you do some shopping around, and the options for fun are vast. Oh yeah, and it is really close to home for me, so I wouldn't have any excuse!
Kat, favorite Christmas song... wow, this is a tough one... just one? Ok, ok Mine would have to be White Christmas. Best when sung by Bing Crosby, but done well by so many others. Every time I hear it, I am taken back to stories of my grandfather in WWII. He actually had a chance to sing with Bing Crosby and Perry Como and other names I can no longer remember. My dad always used to tell me those stories with such pride shining in his eyes. And I remember the misty-eyed look on grandpa's face when those Perry Como Christmas specials would come on tv every year. Once he told us that he was invited to come do one of those shows, but he turned it down. Makes for a great story, and I hear he has pictures to back it all up.
2cute, Lasagna sounds good! I haven't made one in sooooo long. I like to layer spinach leaves and thin slices of zucchini and yellow squash in mine, but that is about the only concession to health. I could use more ideas.
Now is the time to admit I did a dumb thing and took a pain pill just before beginning this post. I'm going to have to come back later when I can remember anything for more than two seconds and words aren't quite as hard to pair together. But, do not despair! I wouldn't leave you without a little song... (I had it prepped up before beginnng to write, thank goodness!)
On The Seventh Day of Christmas, My True love gave to me... Seven swans a-swimming, Six geese a-laying, FIVE GOLDEN RINGS! Four Calling birds, Three French Hens, Two Turtle doves, And a Partridge in a Pear Tree.
On the eighth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me Eight maids a-milking Seven swans a-swimming Six geese a-laying FIVE G---o-o-o-l-d Rings! Four calling birds Three French hens Two turtle doves, And a partridge in a pear tree
2cute: Thanks so much for that article!! I am the saddest sleeper there is... I think I blew my eating this evening because of that... can I use it as an excuse?? No, I shouldn't, but it makes sense. Looking back, I DO eat more when I haven't slept well... hardly eat on the weekends when I am able to rest more. Since I was about 14 or 15, though, I've lived on miniscule hours of sleep. Gotta change that!
Favorite Christmas Carol???Hmmm... I'll Be Home for Christmas. Probably because of all the time I spent away from my husband in the military the last 3 years... and because I almost didn't get to spend this year with him because of Iraq. It brings me to tears everytime I hear it anyway, but that always made it worse! Weird. I didn't spend one without him, but I could have and it makes me sad... Go figure. It's a beautiful song though. Oohhh, and O' Little Town of Bethlehem is another favorite... beautiful lyrics.
Trying to make it through another week at work... I'm ready for a new job, I'm afraid, though hard to give up the great salary...but what is a great salary if you dread going in everyday? I dunno... Gotta think hard on this one and not jump too fast to change.
On the ninth day of Christmas,
my ture love sent to me
Nine Ladies dancing, Eight maids a-milking Seven swans a-swimming Six geese a-laying FIVE G---o-o-o-l-d Rings! Four calling birds Three French hens Two turtle doves, And a partridge in a pear tree
Hi , remember me? My ISP went down and we couldn't move anywhere on our computer. We had a bad wind storm with snow the other day and we got knocked out and finally we are back up and running.
I am sorry for all I missed, but glad for some I missed.
I hope Thin is having a wonderful time in Vegas. Loads of luck to her.
I went to OldTown Bingo over this past weekend and won $1199.00 I was so so so excited. When they brought me the paper to sign I didn't think I would be able to sign my own name I was shaking so bad.
I took some of the money and paid for my new snowtires that are to arrive today and 2 of hubbys new tires and rims. The rest is to finish up Christmas shopping. Yahooooooo.
I have been doing horrible on plan. I am so far off I need a rope tied around me and I need to be tied up to get me back. I will get back, I know I will, just so much going on with family and Evan and such.
Today we are due for a snow/ice/sleet mess. I hope it starts after work and school. I hate driving in it or having my kids on the road when that stuff is going on.
I'm sending out hugs to those who need them and a bigger hug if you really really need one.
i am so disappointed the school i work for has a 2 hour delay today which isnt bad because it is slippery and i do not like sliding around with a school bus full of kids (or me ) BUT i am going to miss my weight watchers meeting i live in a rural area and my meeting is the only morning meeting in the area . which means that ,to go to a meeting i will have to go to a night meeting and Thursday night when my daughter goes to her meeting is out because she has her Christmas concert so we will both miss that one i just don't know what to do i hate missing my meeting , and i hate weight in at night when i normal weight in in the morning boohoo of course it might not be a bad thing because this is the week that i normal have a gain so maybe it will work out for the best. it is just that this would be the first meeting that i missed since i started weight watchers
Hi all, just a quick note today as I had my oral surgery yesterday and I am on happy drugs and penicillin. Oh did I mention happy drugs.
The best thing is I have to eat real light, so I am eating applesauce, egg salad, soup. All kinds of runny liquidy stuff. I think I am going to lose some weight on this my mouth hurts I can't eat anything diet.
Peace all, I am off to try to work before passing out from pain pills.
Love ya'll, Skitt
Ps, Thin thanks for posting the song. I just love the words. Have fun in "Vegas Baby!"
Good morning all. I am just flying through. I have been up since BEFORE 5:30am ... so I am just taking a 5 minute break and that time was used up reading. LOL
Just peeking in to see who all has been here since my last post. LOL
Barbg... I need some new pics to make me SMILE.
We decided NOT to go out for our anniversary last night because it was raining so hard. Since I did not plan on cooking we ended up with Veggie omletes and turkey bacon. Exciting anniversary dinner. LOL
Hubby got me a BEAUTIFUL centerpiece for Xmas. He said he wanted something more special than just roses. What a sweetie.
Good morning! I don't know where to start to catch up but I'll start off saying that today is...
HAPPY NATIONAL COTTON CANDY DAY!!
Michelle, I know today is first day at your new job! I hope all goes well.
Thin, have a great time in Vegas--wish I were going! Wayne and I are planning a trip there in June.
BarbPa, I think I remember you asking from another thread about the craft show I went to in Delaware. I went to the one at a vocational school. There were 200 booths. Yes, there was a big craft show at the University of Delaware. It was for 3 days--Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. That was a good one also!
On a more personal note, I re-joined WW on Saturday morning. It was the best thing I've done for myself in a long time. I've been on program every day since I joined in on the ChristmasChallenge but re-joining WW was another boost for me during the holiday season. I stepped on the scale this morning the number is down. But I won't say...officially.
I crashed so hard last night! Right after logging off here, I must have fallen asleep. I vaguely remember talking to Tony on the phone and being teased cause I kept drifting off and saying bizarre things that made no sense. I'm still groggy this morning, but definitely more rested.
2cute, Happy Anniversary! I know I'm a day late, but 35 years has to be cheered over! Your DH is such a thoughtful sweetie to get that centerpiece.
Gail, National Cotton Candy Day! Gotta love that one. I am so impressed with your staying OP! You set a standard, and I am working really hard to keep it as well.
Skittles, OWIE! At least you have a killer attitude about the whole experience being a good chance to lose weight.
MaryB, I am so sorry you are missing your first WW meeting. Don't let it get you off track. You are doing so well!
Sandy, Wahoo on the win! I love when someone I know gets lucky. Sounds like the timing couldn't have been better. As for staying OP, I know you can do it. Maybe try looking at your food plan as an oasis of calm and control in the midst of all the other turmoil. Yeah, it sounds kind of weird, but a food plan can be the eye of a storm, and it can certainly give you something to hold to tightly when nothing else is within reach.
Kerri, is it the time of year for jobs to just bring you down? Since being back, I'm realizing how burned out I was getting-- not on the girls, but on the staff/management. Maybe it will be better after the holidays? Let us know. *HUGS*
Doh. I'm out of time. My sis just called. I'm supposed to be meeting her at Costco, but she is always, always so late that I wasn't worried. Today she is only 30 minutes off schedule! I've got to hurry!
sandy congratulations on winning those $$$$$ !!!! Isn't it FUN !!!! The biggest I ever won was $250 in quarters.. but hubby has won big.
Michelle how is the new job today? Tell us all about it !!!
Andria.. I can relate to your sister being late.... my DIL is chronically LATE. and of course ... it is NEVER her fault. LOL
Barbg... Cowboys win? Congratualations !!
I only follow my OU SOONERS and maybe a few other college teams.
Gail CONGRATULATIONS on rejoining WW. That program really works... if you work it.
Skittles ..OUCH !!!! Oral surgery is a bummer. But you have a great attitude !!!
memoe/ Mary if you have a gain don't worry about it... bigger LOSS next morning weigh in.
Kerri... I went to bed at 10:30 last night and up before 5:30. That is a whole 7 hours instead of my usual 5. And then today I am more tired than ever. I am just assuming it is going to take my body time to adjust to change. Maybe we both can improve our sleeping habits. BUT .. I compare myself to "Einstein"... he had sleeping issues too.
Okay... gotta get running. Hubby and I are going to go out tonight for our anniversary.
I plan on eating ALL of my salad and grilled veggies and bring most of my steak home.
Then I can enjoy it again for lunch on Wed.
So far so good on my challenge. Most of water down. Food good. Journaled today already but will add before bed. And the scale is moving down too.
