Cool New girl who wants to sit at the cool kids table ;-)

I mean you guys!

Hi! I've been snooping for about a week and decided that it was about time I stopped being a Peeping Tom and take the plunge into my first online forum!

I graduated from college in May and wow do I realize how all those late night study/pizza/chinese food/ice cream parties had really caught up with me and after a summer of not walking all over campus, they have caught up even more so I'm jumping back on the wagon (I've been on and off all through school) and I am DETERMINED to stick to it this time. However, I need some accountability, and that is why I have come here.

I'm almost 23, 5' 10", and currently weigh 207 lbs. I am NOT looking to be skinny, I am looking to feel good. I do not have a certain number of pounds in mind, but I would like to be a size 12... maybe a 10... but I'll just be happy to look as good as I know I can.

I am counting calories, trying to stick to 1400/day and moving my way down to 1200, and exercising daily. I switch back and forth between Winsor Pilates and The Firm. Well at least I was until all these hurricanes struck down here (FL) but now I want to get back on track!

I'm sorry that this is so long but since I have never done this before I am nervous and so I am babbling! I am excited about joining this group and I look forward to chatting with everyone and any advice that you have!

Have a great day and thanks for reading!

And ohmigoodness I know I am going to have too much fun with these great icons!

Welcome Pinksandals!!! I liked your introduction, it's always interesting to see what is the motivator for people to get back into shape. Your tall, I"m 5'11 so, I'm sure you can wear the extra pounds elegantly. When I started on 3fc i was at a similar weight, cutting down on calories and working out have really helped me drop some lbs. I wish you much luck in attaining your weight loss goal.

Thanks for the welcomes! And congrats to both of you on all the work you have done, that's motivation in itself for me!

Welcome pinksandals!!

Depending upon your level of activity you may need more then 1200 calories per day. Not that I am an expert, but from my experience.. it was easier for me to develop a habit of working out for a month, then work on changing my diet til I found something that worked for me (in my case, lower carbs).

Good luck!

Welcome, pinksandals! I'm 5'10", live in Florida and had a similar start weight. Talk about similarities! I know what you mean about getting off-track with the hurricanes -- they wreaked havoc on my eating and exercise! Thank goodness the worst thing that happened here is not having electricity -- I know so many people had it so much worse. Where in Florida are you at?

Hi tonic and jdoggmartin!

tonic, I think you're right about the 1200 cal thing... I'm going to stick where I am for now and see how it goes with increased exercise, thanks!

jdogg - What coincidences! I live on the opposite coast (Melbourne), a lot of my county (Brevard) was hit pretty hard by Frances and Jeanne, thankfully though I personally only lost power and had a lot of lawn cleanup. Hasn't it been wild?!

You have both lost so much weight already! I'm pumped seeing this and I can't wait until it's me!

Thanks again
