Smile North Carolina Losers??

Hello, I'm a 25 year old stay at home mom who is in desperate need of a weight loss buddy. I started seriously trying to lose weight about a week ago and so far I"m only down 1/2 pound. I'd like to try to lose atleast 30 pounds, more if possible. I've joined TOPS and have found that helpful, atleast I know I will have a chance to weigh in weekly as I don't even own a set of scales. I'm trying to cut out alot of unhealty food that has contributed to my weight gain. I have little if any willpower when it comes to foods like cakes, chocolate, chips... etc. If anyone has any helpful hints to curb the cravings I'm all ears! I am not going to buy anything that may tempt me because if its not in my house I won't eat it. Good Luck to everyone who is trying to lose. With the right motivation we will all be able to overcome our weight!

Talking Thanks!!

Hey Amy
Thanks for the reply. I put a post on this thread and nobody responded, so I was afraid I was not going to find a buddy.

So, what kind of plan are you on? I am currently on weight watchers (well kinda). My friend did weight watchers about a year ago and she lot a lot of weight, so she passed the information along to me. So now that I have allowed my weight to get up to 207 I feel disgusting and decided that it is time to make a change in my life for good. I have tried many "diets" before (LAWL, Adkins, Slimfast, ect), but never really stuck to any of them. Other than that I work out for at least 30-45 minutes every morning (mainly running or step areobics). I would like to add in some weight lifting.

What are some of your biggest challenges and what do you do to over come them? Mine: after work. I work M-F 8-5 and as soon as I come home I am hungry and tired, so I usually get something quick to eat (which is usually bad) and sit in front of the TV. To change that I have started cooking dinners at night (a whole lot healthier) and it keeps me up and moving.

anyways, I hope this is not too long and I look forward to helping each other!!

Hey Amber! Well, this is my second week for what I'm dubbing "A Lifestyle Change" b/c if I consider what I'm doing a diet, I too will fail. What I have done so far: changed my sodas to caffeine free diet, cut out excess sugar/fat, bought healthier foods from grocery store, exercise 20 minutes a day, kept busy when my mind turns to food. That's just a small start, but it's been working so far. I'm now down 3.5 pounds and am still just as motivated today as the day I started. My biggest challenge is sweets and carbs. I was literally addicted and had to have some form of sugar a day. Now I keep low-fat yogurt and fruit cups in my house to curb my sweet tooth. I also buy those Slim-A-Bear bars which taste like a frozen Wendy's frosty. They're made with Splenda and only 1.5 grams of fat, 90 cals. Don't think I haven't been tempted to binge but the reward of weight loss, the added energy has been more important. I have been on a "diet" for over 5 years and this is the first time I'm actually seeing a change in my habits. I think positive and don't allow negative thoughts about myself to enter my head, those are only going to sabatoge your efforts. For inspiration and motivation I visit the www.wwfamilyforum.com and look at all the success stories and pics. If those people can succeed at their weight loss then so WILL we! Keep me up to date on how your doing.
