Default A new love...

Hummus.

I avoided it for 7 months on this diet because I don't really like chickpeas (or many other forms of beans), but b/c I was dying for crackers last night, I picked up some hummus in the deli to have something OP to put on my crackers (stone ground wheat crackers, of course).

OMG, I love it! Maybe it's the fact that this is roasted garlic flavored hummus, but it doesn't taste as overwhelmingly beany as I had anticipated. I am now looking for new and adventurous ways to use it. I found a recipe on our recipe forum for a roasted vegetable sandwich with hummus that looks dreamy. Thinking about using it for a vegetable dip with red bell peppers...

I made some this morning and had it on veggies for lunch. Forgot the garlic but that may be just as well!

Fuzzy!!! Hummus is food of the supernatural beings! Yummmm! Not at all beany, in my opinion, and I love beans!

Personally, my favorite is Roasted Red Pepper hummus with red peppers. Yumm! It's an excellent dip for veggies, and your recipe sounds delish, too. Can you post it if it works out?

Here's the link, beachgal: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...ghlight=hummus

I haven't tried it yet, but it's right here on our site, compliments of Jennifer 3FC. Sounds good, doesn't it?

Fuzzy, there's a really good "lemon" hummus, too!

weezle - I just bought the jalepeno for the first time. I enjoy artichoke and garlic hummus as well as cracked pepper hummus.

I've made my own and instead of using TAHINI -- which is expensiv-o, use Natural Peanut Butter! I posted a recipe for super quick hummus in the forum...
