Smile TGIF Chickies

Hey ya'll....finally able to get out there an make a post. The last 2 days have been swamped at work since I was out Monday and Tuesday and out again today. It's a gloomy day here in VA and St. Louis isn't looking any better. Actually I think it's supposed to start clearing up on Sunday....Just as I will be flying back.

I'm a little worried about the weekend as I will be eating out all my meals. I'm bringing my snacks, but it will be a challenge to find things to eat for breakfast. Fortunately I'm now on Phase 2 so it will be a little easier, but still a challenge.

Guess I should go jump in the shower and finish packing. Have a great weekend everyone!

Good morning, Sheila, and TGIF to you! Yes, what would you eat for breakfast on Phase II? Canadian bacon, a poached egg on whole wheat toast?

I'm off to the Fair this morning so can only pop in for a minute. It's great to see so many chicks posting on the Daily and also responding to posts. it sure makes the MOD job easier to have so many givers of support.

My sister is coming this morning to go to the Fair with me. I am going to see if I can pull rank and experience and use the Fair golf cart to tour as my damned knee is very sore. I called pal Dr Bob for a prescription for a painkiller yesterday but he was out of the office. He leaves for Sweden this morning and spent all day yesterday getting a passport replacement as he had lost his! His receptionist had to cancel 50 appointments. Unless I drive to the airport, I am SOL on prescription painkillers so will stick with Advil until I get to my PCP on Tuesday.

Hersh has had her fertility test but the results won't be in until this morning. She is enjoying "only" status but misses Lucy. So do I. I want my baby back.

Gotta go and feed Madame.

Have a super Friday.

Good morning, Chicks~~

Sheila, have a great weekend, wherever you are. I've found that most of the time, when travelling, the "whole wheat" bread, ain't. If you like eggs benedict, you could ask them to serve it on two slices of tomato instead of the bread. It's really awesome.

Ruth, hope you have a great day with your sister at the fair. And if you have to, get insistent on that golf cart. Sounds like you do a lot for the fair, so they should accomodate you a little bit.

Had to get out early again and run to the nursing home. But at least I got a full night's sleep and today IS FRIDAY! Yay! Half day at the lab for me.

BIL, bless him, brought home pizza for dinner last night as he knew I was exhausted. Miss Piggy here ate two slices! Yeesh!

DD and her BF close on the house today, so she'll be moving out this weekend and taking Buffy the Mouse Slayer and Bun-Bun with her. We'll be down to just the two fur babies.

All you chicks have a great day on the beach!

Morning everyone!

Gotta make this quick.....today's an early day at Job #1. We have stupid train tracks that go through our back yard, and there's a train parked there. It keeps honking and honking and it's driving DF crazy, as he's still trying to sleep.

Got called off from Job #2 last night....was really nice of them.

Mama, Job #2 is lab, for me, as well. Used to be Job #1 and in bloodwork and everything (I used to be processor and DF used to be a phleb) but now I just work part-time in Cytopathology. Surgicals and paps are FUN! More fun than blood, pee, and poop, that's for sure.

Anyway, better get in the shower. Gotta be at work in an hour! Talk to you all later on tonight!

Good Morning everyone!!

Well we are off this morning too. Looks like everybody is running out this am. Must be because the faster we get through the day the faster THWEEKEND IS HERE!!!

DD's seem to finally be ok. Older one had it yesterday. But also had to take my first baby in to get a tonail taken off. ( she's a Westie) I have no idea what she did but she caught it on something and pulled it .

We are off to the Chiro and the groomers then maybe to the mall. Need to get out of the house for a little while been here all week. Would be great to get a nice salad out! I just cannot seem to make them as good as they do.

Shela- Try to be good while you are out.

Ruth-I envy you going to the fiar. Have fun but not too much fun!!!

Jodi- Hope the results are good news!!

Mama & jodi- Have a great day !!

TGIF is right. Even though I am only working 3 days, I feel like I live at this office and can not wait to be out of here today.

Was too tempted and weighed in today - down 3 pounds!! Looks like I might just make that July goal. Stay OP. Stay OP. Stay OP.

We don't have much happening this weekend and that is OK by me. Taking the twins to a petting farm tomorrow morning. Have a girls night out dinner with friends tomorrow night, DH gets the kiddos to himself. Stay OP. Stay OP. Stay OP. If you were having chinese, what would you have?

Sheila - have fun this weekend and when in doubt, just order an omelet.

Ruth - get thee a golf cart my dear!

Mama - yeah for a good nights sleep. And YUM pizza.

weezle - I admire you for working 2 jobs, must be hard to juggle.

jodi - ouch, poor DD. Have fun camping!!

skherb - I hope you get a fabulous salad for yourself!!

I will be checking in lots today, after all its my distraction from work.

Looks like everyone is enjoying their Friday! Hope that continues!

My weight was up again today, so I'm reconsidering my decision to continue with the extra starch. I'm going to skip it today and see what happens. Maybe I can do one day on one day off?

I'm off to the doctor's to get my bloodwork done to see how my iron levels are. I hate getting pricked, but I'll think of you, Mamacita, and be a very nice patient.

Play nice!

Good morning!

I am slow moving this morning as I am only now starting on my second cup of coffee.

Smilin' I am curious to hear what advice you get on Chinese food as that is something I love but have been avoiding. I am having a girls' night out tonight!

Ruth I am picturing you tooling around in the golf cart.

Weezle I bet you were thrilled to have some unexpected time off.

SK Glad to hear your DD is feeling better. There is nothing worse than a sick toddler when there isn't much you can do for them!

We are heading off to school here shortly to get some work done. Not as much gets accomplished with DD in tow, but that is okay. The retreat yesterday was fine, lots of non OP foods on the table- candy, cookies, etc. I took my turkey pepperoni, lf cheese, and strawberries and didn't touch ANY of the other stuff. BUT we went to dinner last night and I ate chips and salsa. I stayed OP on my entree, but ate WAY too much of the other. Will I ever learn????

Hope you all have a fabulous day!!

mamacita - Sounds like your BIL was being really helpful. Did he at least load it up with healthy vegetables and Canadian bacon? He could also ask that they go light on the cheese. Or he could get takeout from someplace that has OP food (the grouper and roasted veggies at Friday's is wonderful). I doubt if an occasional pizza would be a big problem but we eat out more than we should so I've been working hard to find OP food.

I am back at work today after 4 days of vacation. I've got a lot to catch up on but I'm still going to try to read when I can. I'll be rushing home to get dinner and get my son to swim lessons by 7. He is doing so well at swimming. I promised him we would swim together this weekend. With two obese parents I encourage him to exercise as much as possible and he really does love being active. He also would rather have a bowl of fruit for a snack than leftover birthday cupcakes. I had to throw out the extra cupcakes since no one was eating them! Yeah!!!

Default Hello everyone!

Been out of the loop for a few days. Barbeque on Monday night, friends from Arizona on Tuesday night BBQ, dh work associates from Minnesota BBQ on Wednesday night, dd 13th Bday party BBQ Thursday night.............I'm tired. I picked up an extra shift on Saturday and Sunday so I will be working from 1400-0200 for the next three days.......crazy, chaotic ER should be easier than home this past week!

Took my daughter and some friends to a water park yesterday and sat for 4 hours in my swimming suit. Call me crispy! I forgot what a sunburn feels like. Anyway, I felt OK in a swimming suit, wasn't embarrassed to be there. That's sure a different feeling.

Weight wise, I'm still not moving. I set my goal low this month on purpose just to be able to make a goal, but I'm thinking it ain't gonna happen! I'm bloated and sore everywhere too, wonder if it's TOM again. He does rude things to the scales. Lately I find that I might have 2 good weeks out of the month.

Well, you all sound like you are having a great Friday, hope your weekend is full of fun! Wear your seatbelts!

Back from the test. The phlebo. was good...hardly felt it! Mama, they had taped up a newspaper from a doctor (Dr. Weil?) saying that we should all be nice to our phlebotomists. Very cool.

Shequilla, I hope you have a great trip! Don't stress too much about the breakfasts...it's pretty easy to get some cottage cheese, an omelet, or real oatmeal. Remember you can have Cheerios with skim milk, okay?

I second you, Ruth, on how wonderful our SBDers are! You guys make being a mod a really fun job. : Thanks for being so supportive of each other and posting so much--it does help! You raise great questions, too! Ruth, I hope right now you are tooling around in a fancy "surrey with a fringe on top" and your bad leg propped up on the dash! Seriously, I hope you get the cart and baby your sore leg. You have certainly done enough for the fair to warrant it. When does Miss Lucy come home?

Mama, could Bun-bun be a furry little rabbit? Enjoy your half day, and congrats to DD on her new home. How exciting!

Weezle, ick about the train! Reminds me of that scene in My Cousin Vinny. Do you look at the remains from surgery at Job #2? I always wondered who did that. I wanted to see the polyp they removed during my sinus surgery, by my surgeon said that they send it to the lab to be analyzed for any signs of cancer or other things, just in case. Interesting job that must be! My mom was a med tech before she had kids, and she loved it.

Jodi, you sound so happy! : Enjoy your camping trip! Did something happen with your DD or did I miss it? What's up with her thyroid? What major stuff to go through at her young age!

SKHerb, poor little pup! Hope it gets better! Enjoy the mall. I'm considering a trip myself tomorrow...but I know I should stay home and get stuff done.

SmilinTwins, congratulations on the three pounds! That's great! We had the Spicy Chicken Kabobs from the SBD cookbook last night. Instead of kabobing them, DH cooked them in a nonstick pan and it turned into a delicious stir fry! If I'd known, I would have planned for veggies for it. Try it over brown rice...tastes just like something from a Chinese restaurant. Very good! At an actual restaurant, I'd ask for steamed veggies and chicken...maybe look online to see what the ingredients are in garlic sauce or bean sauce. You might be able to have one of those. Otherwise, see if you can get some lemon, and maybe bring your own rice? That's a tough one!

Kiko, good for you on not touching all those goodies at the retreat! That must have been tough, but the stuff you brought with you actually sounds better to me. Yum! Good for you! I have trouble with the darn chips, too. Usually tell them not to bring them, but sometimes they forget and I have to stare at the darn things. Arggggh!

Barb, those are great suggestions! So glad your son is growing up with healthy habits! I hope my kids are the same way. My god daughter loves broccoli/cauliflower/carrot mix--the frozen kind, and will take seconds on that before eating ice cream! She's definitely not my genetic daughter! But I think it is great!

LC, I bet if those kiddos have access to toys and you, they would be happy playing in a barn! Seriously, I'm sure they will love their new room and so will you! Tell us what colors you are painting everything--are you doing a deep "Trading Spaces" color?

RNMom, I wish I knew what to tell you...I'm not moving either (except randomly upward). However, when I look at your sig, I am AMAZED at how close you are to goal! WOW!!! I think that in itself is an accomplishment!

Me:
Not too much going on this weekend. I'm looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. I totally need it! I was almost falling asleep on the treadmill this morning. DH will be working on creating a new staircase to the basement, which he is framing out to create a new living space. I'll probably putter around the house, do some chores, maybe work on a couple of quilt squares, etc.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! :

Afternoon chicks!

Barb How awesome that you are setting such a good example for your son! My DD loves to be active as well, although I am sure that is more about being 2 1/2. She also loves healthy foods, which is great!

Not much to report here, we are at my mom's and DD is taking her afternoon nap. I brought some schoolwork to do, but may lounge on the couch some as this has been a busy week. I am not sure where we are going to dinner tonight, BUT I will be making good choices! I just weighed myself on my mom's scale (remember this is my "official" weight scale) and in the middle of the day I am 159. YIPPEE!! Now I need to stay in the 150s as that seems to be the hardest part!
