Default Journal 7/2-7/8

Hi Scuttle. I thought I'd go ahead and start this thread, but today will be my only day posting on it this week. I leave for vacation EARLY tomorrow morning and return next Saturday.

Funny you should mention about my calories. I calculated the same thing after asking you about yours. 1200 sounds so low! I think I'll try to track it after I get back home. 24 pts per day would equal roughly that amount, but like you said, I also have free foods (on a daily basis) and last week I used around 15 flex points. My weight, by the way, is at 179.5 (ww had me at 180 yesterday). I am typically very careful about how I use my points and try to have filling foods. I also try to have protein with every meal (which is why I have a hard boiled egg for breakfast nearly every morning. I wonder if I shouldn't eat so many eggs, but my cholesterol has always been great) to help keep me full.

I hope I handle vacation okay. We had a talk on it at a ww meeting recently. The leader said you need to choose before you go what your goal is of the 3 options: you can lose, gain, or maintain. I am going to opt for maintaining.

you ask me a question, and I write a book! That'll teach ya!

I was at about 1200 calories after lunch. Since then
chicken breast 200
1/2 cup low carb ice cream 180
2 marshmallows, chocolate 200
berries 100
cereal with milk 250
oj 150

Putting me at about 2300 calories for the day, this is higher than my goal of 1800, but considering I am breastfeeding and I spent hours in the pool today as the bucking bronco for a 9 year old boy I think I may have burned a few of those calories, or at least some muscles. Tomorrow is going to be hard, an all day food extravaganza at my parents house. I am going to try to stick to fresh berries and spinach salad to get me through it.

Hi morrigan! And if you're not hungry and it's working for you, Rabbit, sounds like you found something good. I try to mix protein in as I kind, which is why I'll often have eggs or a veggie breakfast patty (they're soy-based) for breakfast.

Day one of vacation had me at work until 4 pm in a very hectic day, then flight delayed a few hours, and finally at the party, where I stayed up past 3 am! Wow. There's a lot of young'uns here at this party, it's an online gathering, but some of us 'old folks' are in our 30s as well. Lots of fun, and hey, I can count wandering up and down the hallway and juggling as exercise! Er, well, maybe not.

Breakfast
Oatmeal
Veggie breakfast patty

Lunch
Frozen meal, healthy choice barbecue chicken with dipping sauce

Snack
Small (1/2 - 3/4 cup?) Ben & Jerry's frozen vanilla yogurt
1 bag potato chips (150 calories )

Dinner
Spinach & chicken salad at Wendy's with their LF bacon-something dressing

Drinks
1 drink, not sure what it was but pretty light on the alcohol (social drinking for me ends up being about 5 or 6 drinks tops in an entire year) and mixed with diet pepsi

Saturday 7/3

Breakfast
Oatmeal
Handful of peanuts

Lunch
Slice of bread with hummus
Stuffed grape leaf with cheese
Spoonful of "flaming cheese"
Fluffy "cheese pie" triangle pastry appetizer thingie
Chicken kabob - about 3-4 ounces chicken, marinated and grilled

Snack
5-6 (oops) shorbread cookies with fudge-type frosting
1" by 1/2" square of chocolate

Dinner
1 slice cheese pizza
1 hershey kiss

(Basically all eating food at the convention here and I'm pining for vegetables! Tomorrow isn't so much catered food though so I'll escape somewhere that serves salads and get some fruit, probably.)

Oooh. Very bad nutrition/calories day. I'm trying to estimate calories for kicks but, uh, not very successful. Luckily these parties are once a year! I think being up 18-20 hours a day contributes, along with 'social eating' and it's amazing how you can absently consume 10 (maybe it was 8 or 9, but I'm estimating 10) Nutter Butters over the course of an afternoon...

Sunday 7/4

Brunch
Wendy's oriental chicken salad with oriental sesame dressing & rice noodles (510 calories)

Grazing
10 Nutter Butters (650 calories)
8 oz strawberries (75 calories)

Dinner
2 biscuits from Popeye's (500 calories)
2 chicken fingers from Popeye's (275)
1 packet honey mustard dressing from Popeye's (50)
1/2 cup macaroni and cheese from Popeye's (100)
1/2 cup cole slaw from Popeye's (75)

Total: 2225

Which, calorie-wise, isn't as bad as I feared, and I think fairly close to what I ate. So, eh. I'm glad I got some fruit and vegetables in, though.

I'm really trying to get on track here. Digging into the veggie drawer for snacks instead of cereal boxes.
Breakfast: 1 egg, 1/2 toast, milk ~ 360
Snack: celery and carrots ~ negligible
Lunch: 1/2 sandwhich, milk ~ 250

edit: ended up at 1250 and 15 carbs - no exercise -

do over - it is Thursday - I tried to start a yoga video, but it was impossible with Wil jumping on my back, smooching me and trying to shove train set peices in my face. I will make it back to the basement later for a second go round.

middle of the night snack- kashi with milk and strawberries = 200
breakfast - cheerios with berries and milk = 250

edit: 7:30 pm - I totally understand about the forgetting thing if you don't write it down.

early lunch tuna with crackers
late lunch 1/2 turkey sandwhich
snack: kashi with milk
Dinner: tofu stirfried with garden veggies and peanuts
snack 2 crackers

I am figuring I ended up with about 1700 calories and 16 servings of carbs

I am thinking I may ax the goal of 6-10 lbs per month and just go for 1800 calories per day so it seems more tangible.

You know, it's amazing how I can totally forget I eat things if I don't write them down within 8-10 hours of eating them. Just a side comment.

Breakfast
Oatmeal
Soy breakfast patty

Lunch
Lean Cuisine meal (something with chicken, under 300 calories, and 2 vegetable servings!)

Snack
Soy chips
Grapes (no clue how much, a cup or less)

Dinner
Giant roast beef sandwich (that's what it's called!) from Arby's
2 packets Arby's sauce

Started off on the wrong foot today:
4:30 am kashi with milk ~ 320
8:00 am oatmeal with raisins, and toast 260
10:30 am to leftover shortcakes and a glass of milk 400

So far 920 calories and it isn't even lunch time yet
