Hey Ya'll-
I'm on Day Three of South Beach and could use all the help I can get. I swear yesterday I would have traded a vital organ of mine for it's equal weight in chocolate. Any tips on making it through Phase One without attacking the Au Bon Pain personnel?
Best Wishes for a wonderful day

welcome VTprop. it gets easier really!! hang in there the cravings go away honest!! as far as tips go make sure you eat all 3 meals and your snacks for the day, drink lots of water. oh yeah and don't trade any vital organs!!! you'll do great good luck
Look at the time of day that you normally would eat chocolate. My problem was at work since the candy jar is in the next cubicle. So last week (first week of Phase 1), I made sure to eat a larger breakfast than usual. I ate the mini quiche or eggs and made sure I had something with lots of fiber to snack on during the day. For me, cauliflower has worked best. I even threw together a dip with mayonnaise, horseradish, garlic powder, and basil (I think). The fiber kept me filled up. Turkey/cheese rollups were also good.
If you eat chocolate at home you might want to freeze the chocolate you have to make it less accessible.
Yes -- eat veggies and other P1 approved items. Dr. A says to eat until you are full. If you want chocolate, go to the recipes section for that chocolate peanut butter cup recipe! It's YUMMY!
Hi VT!! Welcome to the beach!!! You know whenever I get a craving for a "frankenfood" I just come and post on 3fc. It helps me soo much!! Now I find I rarely get cravings and if I do I barely entertain the thought and then the cravings gone in the blink of an eye. Keep up the good work, stay dedicted, stay focused, keep your eyes on the prize We're here for you.

Welcome to the beach, VT I'm on day 2 so I know what you mean about cravings. Remember to plan ahead and have lots of allowed foods on hand for those snacks.
the craving will go away trust us all. i recomend looking into the recipie section. or just talk to us we will get you through it. Keep in mind you only have two weeks of the strict phase and there is some chocolate options in the second phase like pudding. Its a matter of being creative with what you can have.
You all rock. I am so glad I wondered onto this site. It's Day 4 and I am feeling abit better. I didn't even want dessert after dinner last night. I've brought more healthy snacks to work today, just in case. By toughest obstacle is that I am the office baker for all parties. I love to do grand cakes, pies, and other desserts. I always have to tast my work to see what could be better or changed. Hopefully no one's birthday will come up in the next month or so. Thank you all for your support.
Have a wonderful morning,
VT
