Smile Hump Day Chat

Good morning all....I can say that because it is 12:30 here and after sleeping for an hour I am now wide awake. well kinda of. So I figured I would start us off early today. I am feeling better now that I am back on track. It is amazing how easy we fall back into old habits. ( or me anyway) but I have been on track for the last few days and I feel much better. I really need to stay on the wagon. While investigating my poor body for injuries. If you want more details on that one check out TALES OF THE BIKER BABE I relized that I am getting a little lumpy, this has given me the determination to get keep my lumpy butt OP. I have had 2 days in a row now, I think I will write the word lumpy on a big piece of paper and post it in the kitchen. That should work. Well I think I may just be ready to go back to bed. If I don't I will be no good to run after the wee ones tomorrow. Well my dear chickies hope you have a great day.

Little Chick, I hope you're not in too much pain from your falls yesterday. (geez, I can't believe how many times you fell! Or almost fell.)

I have just had the sleep from ****. Finally got up at 4 am. My head is clogged, I'm aching all over, and I've got my darned P. I had a large whiskey last night and a garlic sandwich thinking I would be miraculously cured overnight. Apparently not.

Have a good day, girls!

RnMom, get better soon!

Poop! Just lost a big and witty post! I must complain to a MOD.

Ellis and Little Chick and RNMOM, I hope you are all feeling better today! It's no fair being sick in the lovely month of May.

I worked off part of my butt yesterday in the garden with Sarah. She showed up with her lunch and I realized she intended to work the full day! Oy! We dug, clipped trees, split perennials, tackled weeds, potted stuff, fertilized, mulched and finally did some FlyLady stuff in the barn! She left at 3 and I was about to strip and shower when a friend showed up for plants so I got a chance to dig again! At 5:30 her husband turned up to dig some ribbon grass and I let him! We had BBQ burgers for supper and I fell into bed at 9:30! AND I get to do it all over again this morning! Yippee!

By the way, yesterday was NOT an OP day. Aside from bread (flax) I also discovered low carb beer! Not bad for a once in a while treat.

Hershey goes to her clinic job this afternoon. Her hip is not bothering her much at all. She still charges around the dog garden racing Lucy and winning sometimes. This year they have not picked and eaten my tulips and that's a good thing. They may be holding out for the peonies! Silly girls!

Have a super hump day.

Here's a picture of some woodland pretties - hepaticas which are just finished. It's trillium time right now but everyone knows trilliums - I think.

Good morning, Chickies~~

Sounds like we should call ourselves the sick-call chicks. I, too, spent a miserable night. The phone rang around midnight, some wrong number apparently. Gave me a nice adrenaline jolt. About an hour after that, I woke up with a hideous sinus headache that is still with me. Took some Advil Sinus a few minutes ago, hoping it will kick in before I head out.

Dunno if I mentioned it or not, but my AC at work has been kaput since last Friday. I asked the doc's wife (they own the building) if she'd call in a technician. She said their regular guy died from a spider bite last week and she couldn't recommend anyone else, so we were on our own. Apparently she has this idea that landlords simply collect rent from their tenants and have no responsibilities as far as maintanence at all. Finally got MY boss to call the doc (after it hit 80* in the lab yesterday). Supposedly, there is a tech arriving first thing this morning. And I will have an SRO crowd in the waiting room. Grrr...

Well, gotta get my shower..be back later...

Had a short sleep in the TV room after getting up at 4. Nightsweats. Something else to disturb my slumber.

Gee, Ruth, you got a TON done yesterday! Aren't you aching today!?
You like that beer, huh? DH and I tried it, and decided we may as well drink water.
The hepaticas are lovely... thank you for sharing!

Mamacita, I hope your head clears up quickly. Sinus pain is the WORST!
He died of a SPIDER BITE!?!?

So, I'm on South Beach again, and I'm pretty excited. DH is starting again with me, and is going to make us a vegetable omelet for breakfast. I already feel skinnier.

Default The fall girl.....says good morning

Morning chickies again..... this time it is a much better time. Although I am a little stiff this morning I feel pretty good. Maybe I go biking again tonight Maybe I will do some yoga instead you wouldn't think I could get hurt that way.

Ellis- Sorry you didn't sleep very well...nothing worse than that. But good for you getting back OP today. I wish someone would make me an omlet in the morning.Gotta love that feeling skinny feeling.

Ruthie- the flowers are beautiful are they wild ones or could I find them somewhere to plant in my garden. My new bed is still empty I need to do some research on what I want to put in there. You certianly gots lots of exercise yesterday with all that gardening and yard work.

mamacita- thank god for Advil cold and sinus. Hope your AC gets fixed. enjoy you day.

Well I must go try to accomplish something today. Garbage pick up is tomorrow and I try to dejunk something every two weeks the day before pick up. I will check in later to read up on the TALES ON THE BEACH.

Little Chick, they are wild flowers and grow in deciduous woodlands. They really don't transplant well and have a very short bloom period. They are neat because the flowers appear before the leaves!

Sheesh! Your post reminded me that it is Dump Pick-up Day and my recyclables are still in the basement!

Catch up later.

Ugh -- I woke up with a headache this morning and it still isn't gone, even after eating this morning. I hardly ate last night, because I had bad cramps. Now mind you, my TOM is done [God I love the pill] and now I am worried that it's IBS. I am such a hypochondriac!

Ok, I hate popping pills, but I must go take something. My head is killing me [I know, I know, my face is killing you too!]

Have a great day all!

Default Good afternoon all

Well, I'm feeling much better today. Some 24 hour bug thing. I think it was my mother's fault.....(I have issues). She fed me the night before the barfing thing and she tried to get me to eat banana cream pie....evil woman. I didn't have any pie but I did have a piece of plain grilled hamburger with a HUGE slice of raw onion, smothered in salsa. Did I say a huge slice of onion? UGH.

Anyway, today I'm feeling better. Last night made homemade bread and cinnamon rolls. My poor family didn't know what was going on! Poor babies are so used to seeing bare cupboards of anything fun. I got a little cranky because I did want some cinnamon rolls, but I didn't. Before I made bread yesterday I had to go to the basement and bring up a 25# bag of flour. I couldn't believe how heavy that felt! My knees hurt coming up the stairs. I used to carry that around all the time!!!!!

I officially have 10 pounds to go!!!!! I'm too excited for words. Every day is a new challenge and I have to gear up for willpower. I hope for the day it won't be a struggle. I'm finding that I'm jogging further everyday, it feels so good to feel good.

Hey all you sick chicks....get better! I thought flu season was over. Except for TOM, there's not much of a cure for that treat.

Have a great day!
