Cool 50 Days 'Til Summer! Challenge

Okay, so the May Day Challenge was a total flop for me. At least I'm lower than I was before I started it, I guess. So I'm thinking ahead and hoping I can get some takers for a *new* challenge. Starting Saturday, May 1 and going until Saturday, June 19. That's 7 weeks and 50 days and puts us right into the start of summer. (Yea, summer!) I know I'm jumping the gun a bit, so if you want to wait a few days to see if you want to jump in, that's fine.

Here's my personal challenge: be at 180 by June 19th. Depending on where I am on May 1st, this could be as much as 15 lbs., perhaps as little as 12 lbs. We'll see. No matter what, I want to be at 180 by June 19th! In addition to making a weight-oriented goal, I want to challenge myself to spend 2,500 minutes within those 50 days exercising, in some way. That breaks down to about 1 hour 6 days a week, which is pretty much on par for me.

Jenicra: I am SO in with you!!! I am so tired of not meeting any of the challenges we've had since I've joined in February. I'm making this one my first! My goal is to be 151 on June 19. That's 15 lbs. Which means:

I'm going to change the way I eat by eating purposefully--at a table, not in front of the tv and not wolfing it down. I'm also cutting out my "second helpings" at meals. I know going back for seconds is okay if you really still feel hungry, but that's always where I fall. I tell myself I'm still hungry even if I'm not.

I'm going to exercise in the morning and in the evening for at least 30 min each. I'm also continuing to increase the time I run by 10 seconds each day.

Here I go.....

Can I join you??
My current weight is 156,4lbs and I challenge myself to 139 on June 19.

I'm counting calories and keeping my fat intake as low as I can...
Planning to weigh myself in every Sunday and see my progress. My short goals are to lose about 2,5 lbs every week...

Have a nice day
Ariadne

I am feeling a little better now that I know I'm not the only one without a May Day challenge success. I haven't weighed yet and I'm a little scared to but I'd like my summer challenge to be down to 145. That is around 10-15 pounds. I'd like to average 7 hours of exercise a week. Maybe its time to start wearing the old pedometer again. It helped keep me on track before, maybe it will this time. Good luck to everyone!

OK. I've been doing terrible lately. I desperately need a challenge! My challenge goal will be 172. I'm not sure what I weigh currently... I'm afraid it's more than the 182 in my signature, so this will be a 10-pound loss or more.

Also, I'm going to set a mileage goal. I'd like to get in 20 miles of walking/jogging per week.

Good luck to everyone!

Glad to see so many takers - good luck to all of you. I really like the idea of putting an exercise component into my goal and I'm happy to see that some of you did that as well. I'm already in full-on challenge mode. I'm ready to say bye-bye to this weight, that's for sure. I forgot to weigh-in this morning, so I don't think that I'll be weighing in until Saturday, Day 1 of the new challenge, to see where I felt of the May Day Challenge and to see how much I have yet to lose for the 50DTS Challenge. And after that, I'm going to try to stay off of the scale for as long as possible. I'm going to lock the darn thing in the bathroom cupboard. If I can last a week without peeking, I'll be happy. Ahhh... I'm addicted!

My first challenge! And only my second post...

I'd like to be down to 168 by June 19th, which is 15 pounds. This will be tough because I'm going on vacation the last week of the challenge. I hope it will keep me from gaining while on vacation.

Since I've never done this before, do you just update weekly on your weight loss progress/struggles, etc.?

I am in! I will wait until my weigh in tomorrow to see what my goal will be. I was 153.5 on Monday and I am hoping for 152.5 tomorrow. *fingers crossed* My may day goal was 152.... 7 weeks.... I will aim for 10lbs which will put me at 143.5 or 142.5 depending on how tomorrow goes. My overall goal was 143 which I hope I hit by then. I am in a wedding June 26th and that would be awesome! Since losing my goal has went from 143 (weight I was when I met my husband) to eyeballing 138.... we shall all see! I will post again tomorrow!

Ok I am back.... I weighed in for my May Day goal at 151.5 and 151 after my shower which is strange. So I will make my 50 Days till summer goal of 143. That is my overall goal so I know the closer I get the weight will probably come off slower. Anything less then that will be great though!

Weigh-in day for me today and I have some good news!!!!

The scale showed 154,6 , that means a loss of 2 extra pounds and a change in my profile!!

I feel very good but I think I'm not losing as fast as during first week..(now I'm at week 3)
Anyway , I can accept any loss even for 1/2 pound..that's ok with me...

139 I'm coming!!!!
