short version: our business name is AGE and when I started on the internet we had an antique shop along with the Mustang parts, and ole Alvin dubbed me ageoldies to note that my emails related to the antique business. Somewhere along the line, the s fell off and I'm ageoldie.
Ditzy Blonde is my daughter, I have lost her to the world of drugs. Its the one and only connection I have with her. The connection is only in my heart. She doesn't call or contact us but maybe 3 times a year. It's been 5 months since the last phone call. Ditzy Bonde was her nickname for years.
a mother always worries, and fears the worse.
oh ditzy... it took such courage to write that! my heart is breaking for you. maybe after she sees what you've done with yourself, she'll follow your example and make some changes in her own life.
we'll hope and pray right along with you.
i'm afraid my nickname is just really simple, pookie. it comes from my initials. jfp.
My user name is simple--I live in Tucson Arizona and my name is Chris--It was the only thing I could think of at the time (I am not very original). Course my brother is less original--when he had to think of a user name he was in his living room. He started to think (very unusual for him LOL), looked across the room and saw the cats cat tree----so his name is Cattree LOL
My story is boring. I wanted something to show that I was proud of my kids. I have always called them a bunch of wild monkeys. I have four of them. I use to be a big fan of My Three Sons, but I have two boys and two girls, sooooooo to make a long boring story short. I came up with My4Monkeys. I use it for my email address and on another board that I'm on too.
Hey Chickadee, that's neat that that was your nickname. My great-grandfather had a nickname for me, and he was the only one who used it. It was Blackeyed Susan, and until he died he always called me Susie.
Ditzy, I like the others applaude you courage. I too had a child that was into drugs, but I was one of the lucky ones, and he is clean now and has been for several years. I will pray for a good outcome to your situation.
Misty-- was a nickname I got in high school, seas-- I just thought the 2 sounded good together and I picked it because I love the ocean and hopefully next summer I will be in shape to finally go back to the beach!
Well, I don't really think I need to explain mine, huh.
I've shared my life with Dalmatians for quite a while now. I always called Naughty Girl (the sweetest liver spot Dal) my first born since I got her before I had kids. After she passed (at 14!) 6 years ago, I became very involved with a local Dalmatian rescue group and adopted Scooter (he's in the pic there with his 'bebe') - we adopted Ginger a year later.
I recently received my personalized plates: [heart]SPOTDG for my 2004 Tahoe so now everyone will know that I'm crazy about those silly, spotted doggers!
Ditzy - You are golden. Your unconditional love is felt deeply. From a person who was nearly lost in the 80s, there is hope for her to live and put it all behind her. Please don't give up that hope.
There's an old song that was popular here and maybe has travelled the world. It's called "Granny's Heilan' Hame" (translation...Granny's Highland Home)...it's a real cliche now but the first line is "Where the heatherbells are bloomin'..."
My Granny...who never saw the Highlands in her life...used to sing it to me and would call me Heatherbell or sometimes Bell for short...so it seemed like a good name to choose.
Ditzy - my heart goes out to you. You and your family are in my prayers.
peach pit....when I registered and was asked for a user name, I was feeling pretty darn low. I kept thinking, 'I used to be a peach but now I am just a pit'...hence peach pit. I have dropped the pit part when I sign my name, because I am not in such a low place BUT I know the pit is always lurking around the corner so I'll never drop it completely.
Lanaii1... I've always liked the name Lana... When I started using the computer I sat down with my journal and doodled a bunch of names... My real name is Ilene and I like the letter *I* for some reason dunno why, silly really... Lanaii just sounded like an breezy name... I later came to find out that it's a "porch" in Hawaii... I've used it in chat rooms, I never go there anymore they are too weird, people would think I was from Hawaii... I WISH!
That's my story and I'm sticking with it...
Cute thread Pook... I call our cat Bob, Pookie all the time, or Pookster, I don't know why we didn't call him Pookie in the first place...Our other cat we call Chloé Bébé...
