Smile In college and need support!

Hey everyone....This is my first day on the board. I am starting my diet on Monday. (It's a good day to start, it gives me my last weekend of freedom...lol) Anyway, I am a Xenical dieter. It works well for me. I am looking for people to keep in contact with who are also dieting for support. It doesn't matter to me what type of diet you are choosing to lose the weight with, I just think we all need support! Support would greatly help because I am a college student who lives on campus. And we all know about the freshmen 15. haha Problem is, I couldn't even afford that extra 15 to gain to begin with.......haha But I'm going to do something about it. Feel free to leave me an email or a message! Thanks!!!!!!
-Kimberly

Hey Kimberly
I'm currently an on-campus college student too. Ahh the wonders of trying to eat healthy on dorm food! I'm not following any particular plan, just trying to make healthier choices and controling portions and taking advantage of the rec center. You've found a great site for support, the people here are wonderful. Leave me a message anytime!

Thumbs up Salad bar?

When I was in college, and I felt those pounds creeping up, I would hit the salad bar with low fat dressing. After a week of salad as my main meal and lean chicken as dinner, it was usually enough to get me started and motivated.

Plus, I encourage walking as much as possible on campus (weather and safety first of course).

Good luck!

Red face

i'm in college as well and i understand how tough eating choices can be to make! i'm attempting sugar busters, but its a little more difficult. it's too bad someone couldn't come out with a dieting guide for college students, taking into consideration the cafeteria food, snack machines, and for some...like myself due to ability and room's sake...can't cook. hopefully somebody will get it soon enough! but i would like support as well. so far its been suggested to me:
1-to study in the library so i wouldn't be able to eat
2-and to not even follow a particular plan, since it can be so stressful, just watch portion sizes and maybe sub fries for fruit.

those two things seem like good enough suggestions to me. i hope that you are doing well on your program and keep working hard. hopefully it'll pay off for both of us eventually!

college was tough for me because my dorm was right across from a place that sold the best deep fried...everything. But once I discovered the fitness center, there were other people there who were trying to avoid the frshman 15 as well. And for once I noticed how much space and lush green there was to jog. Those 15lbs and anything subsequent to that are usually gained unnoticed. So once you realize and take control of whats going on you should be cool. Good luck!
