Default Friday!!!

At last it is Friday. This has been a long old week. Today I am having a very cultural day, meeting Friend One here to see this and then this evening meeting Friend Two to see this

That means two meals out, but I think there is a good restaurant at the gallery where I can have salmon and salad or something, and then I can get some grilled chicken or something for supper pre opera. It will be ok.

Then tomorrow and Sunday I have college all weekend. We are focussing on dreams, and working in small groups on our own and our client's dreams. We have another similar weekend coming up in May. Last night I dreamed that there was a big International Women's Day tapastry thing on a wall and I had to secure it there by using this glue gun which fired white embroidered stars. I was trying to do the entire perimeter of the tapastry. But then I turned my back and it was taken down as they said 'there is no funding for this, you will just have to go out for a drink or something'. That is definitely one to work on.

Have a good day all, and remember there are only twelve days of the five pound challenge left to go....surely you can stick it for twelve days????!
xx

I know it is so interesting interpeting dreams. My grandma loves doing that. I bought her a little book and she reads it all the time.

Did you have to remind me about the challenge already...LOL

I am trying so hard to lose this next five pounds. The lord knows I need to!!!!

I will check back in later
Have a great Friday

Good morning, Chickies---

YES, TGIF!!

I so need groceries. Last night I found some tilapia in the freezer, so pan seared that and had it for supper. I'm sick unto death of green beans, so no veggies. Just the tilapia. I made oven fried potatoes for hubby and dd. I didn't wake up hungry or anything, but today, mark my words, I'm buying salad. And chicken, and beef, and veggies.

About those potatoes. I'm still kind of amazed that I've been able to avoid the temptation. It feels great to pass them up, no matter if they're baked, fried, mashed with gravy.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to learn to like brown rice? I'm trying really hard, but it's an uphill battle. Not saying it's impossible, but we're just not getting on together. I've cooked it in broth with veggies, etc...and there's something about the mouth feel that bugs me. About the only way I can deal with it is when I make Mexican rice.

Here's another little conundrum. When I weighed yesterday am, I was at 184. I had a normal day, didn't eat a lot of salt or anything, walked last night and when I weighed this morning, I showed 187 and my hands are slightly swollen. So, I'm guessing water retention. But WHY ~~sigh~~

Well, guess I'll trundle down to the kitchen and make a cup of tea.

TTFN,

Mamacita

Good Morning!

Just a quick check-in to see how everyone is doing. Haven't been on my home PC for quite a few days (no time), so with dh having to leave early for a conference call this AM thought it an opportune time to see what everyone was up to.

It is FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!! That means my usual Friday lunch out with friend, and the usual frantic day at the office trying to wrapup major projects before the weekend!

Hope you all have a great day.

Oh, Clovey, I'm jealous! The only time I run across the Tate is in a crossword puzzle, and the opera too. My only tasks today are a dentist app. and a gocery run. But at least the roads are clear of snow today.

Mamacita, somewhere I have a recipe for chicken and brown rice with sort of Mexican seasoning. Maybe I'll dig it out and post it. I think it might be doable for SBD.

Good morning, Jojams and Ruth. Have a great day everyone.

Back and coffee in hand and Bran Flakes and berries in tummy.

Mamacita, I know what you mean about the brown rice. I have just given up eating it as there are lots of other whole grain choices on Phase II. Bulgar, barley and quinoa (sp?) come to mind.

Jo, lunch with friends on Friday sounds just great! I do miss that part about working. Lunch with Harry and the Girls is not quite the same somehow.

Penny, maybe you can listen to classical music while you do your errands. Isn't it silly to be happy there is no snow on the roads when Spring is officially here this weekend!

The news for Hershey is that, although her thyroid level is normal range, it's low normal so the vet has started her on Geri-tabs which are a mild thyroid. We hope this will budge some of the weight along with her treadmill sessions.

We are off for session #3 this morning and then have to go pick up more meat for this new diet. Then I need to drive Harry to the Library. I spend so much of my day looking after dogs and Harry!

**Warning!** Rant Follows***

I absolutely hate my new perm which is way too curly! Grrrrr! Maybe I'll shave my head and get it tattooed. Maybe I'll just set it on big rollers if I can find them. Or wear a hat all the time! Please tell me I'll get over this and be able to look in the mirror again someday! I also splashed bleach on my new top while cleaning up dog barf after dinner last night! Can you tell that yesterday was not stellar?

Done now!

Today is sunny although cold. We will walk down for the paper while H. eats his breakfast. That'll warm up Hersh for her 10 AM treadmill session! She needs a ten cup sports bra, by the way. Any suggestions?

I hope we all have a great TGIF!

Morning, darling chicks! WELL!! All of my anxiety about barricaded Farley escaping the kitchen came to fruition when I got home last night. Two dogs at the door, where only one should be. They were OK. Farley slept on my head last night, AGAIN, and Noodles spooned me. sheesh. The things we do for dogs.

I think I might stay home with the dogs this weekend because all three dogs, one too fragile (Sumner), one a complete psycho (Noodles), and one a little old man trapped in a Griffon's body (Farley), will wreak complete and utter havoc upon the perfect mansion and it's contents. You know the show While You Were Out? That's what I'm gonna pull this weekend. Jorge wants to be at his bosses teet all the time? FINE! Your house is going to be painted when you return. Mwahahahahahhaa

I am completely obsessed with the homeless people that have taken up residence in the 1 acre wood next to my building. Every day I poke my head out and see what they're doing. I don't know why they're still there? It's in a very urban area, and there's nothing but buildings and strip malls... SO WIERD!

Ruth- Shave it off! I shaved my head, though I didn't get it tattoed, a couple of times. It was very liberating. I have hair now, I'm such a square...

Chickies- The weekend temptation is upon us! Let's stay OP through the weekend and meet this 5 lb challenge!! Tootles!

Default the ranting continues...

Good Morning girls
Oh Ruth...it will get better...wash it a lot & use a heavy hair masque to loosen it a bit...but I bet you look beautiful...we all know true beauty comes from within..and you simply radiate it.
It is continuing to snow here...3rd day nopw..another 2 -5 inches expected...ahhhh New England!
Clovey...nice plans! You truly know how to live..I say we all fly to Clovey's for the weekend and party with her!
OK..here come my rant...bewaresomewhat X rated)
I have not been 100% OP for a few days...packing...tired...not cooking healthily (excuses, all, I know), so I am feeling heavy & blah to begin with.
My BF is going out of town for a week to visit his parents (the little dears are 90 & 92!), so he came over last night with some Thai food (carbs and more carbs..I ate them), with the idea that we'd have some "romance" before he left. I set the scene with candles and beautiful music (nora jones), a sexy little boudior number, some nice wine...now granted, Thursdays are not good days for him...always wiped out from a full week of doing surgeries and procedures...but, he comes in, refuses to take off his coat because he is cold and tired, we eat (coat still on), we have some wine (coat still on), we snuggle up on the couch (coat still on)....and he falls alseep!!!! HELLO?????
An hour later I woke him up & sent him home. Maybe I'm being insensitive, but HELLO????? That's what I get for dating old men I guess.
To make matters worse, this morning,I got on the scale & it's UP (UP!!!!!!) 2 lbs....I hate myself...so my 5 lbs challenge is really a 7 lb challenge...and then I melted a hole in the sleeve of my blouse (friggin rayon piece of @#&*)..which I wore anyway 'cause I am so ripping nothing matters right now...and of course the coffee shop is no longer serving my fave white choc. snowflake coffee. And it's snowing..again...
I'm done...sorry.

Gosh, we're all a little witchy this morning, ah?

January- My sweater smelled wierd this morning. Did I change? Nope. Febreezed it!! I feel ya, sista!

SO! All of the ranting and raving this morning that I have done? Magically melted away, it has. We are evaluating a kid here today who is 4 (so automatically he's OK in my book!), he's black so that makes him 2 times as adorable (I swear, black children are just CUTE!), and he's just the most matter of fact little thing you've ever met. I ADORE HIM. He made all right in my world. This poor little guy, from the inner city, mother is a literal crack whore, in foster care, and still just the sweetest, snuggliest little man. UGH! I am in heaven!!!!!!

Ohmygosh, misery LOVES company. I came to the computer 2 hours ago for a little motivation and chat from ya'll and bam, the damn thing isn't working again. it did this yesterday, so didn't the same snippy bich get on the phone, no solutions, she told me 3 times i shouldn't have uninstalled the modem, HELLLLO I told her 4 times I never uninstalled anything. How the he** would I know how to do such things. So here I am managing 4 ending ebay auctions and my fave forum on... GULP dialup. Its so 1990's! But, my tummy is growling, I cannot, willnot eat another blessed egg for breakfast, and the coffee is gone. I have to film my little project today and I just don't feel very domestic diva-ish. I need someone to feed.... I wish someone I knew actually liked the opera, I need some new friends.

WOW!
What I have missed during the past 4 hours and 11 minutes. I just checked in quickly during a quick break in the action in my office and am completely blown away. Not many happy faces this AM!

Will try to check back later to see if the day is getting any better.

Hang in there !

well sorry to say i'm glad i'm not the only one having a not so perfect friday. i started off the morning with teacher conference at my youngest's school (ds 8 almost 9). he goes to a special school for kids with learning disabilities and although his behavior is always very good. he just has such a long way to go. i always get so bummed after these conferences. the school is awesome and so are the teachers and patch loves it but it is so discouraging for me (is that selfish?) anyway i sat and listened about how he is a big help and tries so hard and really wants to learn etc etc and i know all these things but the reality is he is in the equivalant of 3rd grade and his reading level is still on a pre-primer level(pre-kindergarten). and he he can't tell time, and he does not know the alphabet, and so on and so on. i guess these conferences just remind me of the very long road he has ahead of him and how helpless i feel although i am doing everything i know how it just does not seem to be enough. thanks for listening!!

on the upside this challenge has put me into a different frame of mind i have been totally op all week and was back at 244 this am on the scale (those 3 nasty cake pounds are gone!!!!) so i am going into the weekend with a good attitude. i have my meals planned and i will do my best not to stray. thanks to everyone for the support!!!
hope the weekend is good to you all!!!
