Hi, I am a 26 year old woman, married, SAHM of one son. I am looking for an online buddy to get and give encouragement, support, and buddyship. I am working very hard to lose weight and I have changed my whole lifestyle to match it.
I exercise everyday on my treadmill by walking and jogging. I do Yoga and Power Yoga a few times a week and I have changed my eating habits dramatically. I have cut out the junk foods and now eat lean meats, fresh fruits and vegetables. I can't seem to stop drinking soda and juice boxes but I have incorporated bottled water to replace some of the sweet drinks (I am working on it!)
I am very focused on loosing the weight. Right now my goal is to loose fifty pounds by June. I want to loose the weight for me and my family. I have a wonderful son and I want to be able to play with him without getting tired quickly. We are planning to do a lot of vacationing with our son this summer and I want to be fit to do the walking and playing. We are looking to go to DisneyLand!!!! I also have a good and supportive husband and I want to have a long healthy life to share with him. He's been great about telling me how great I am no matter what size and his only wish is for me to be healthy.
I am looking for a buddy because although my husband is very loving and supportive he has never been overweight in his life and I don't really know anyone that is dealing with a weight issue. I am looking for a buddy that can relate to the struggle of weight loss to interact with online.
My personality is friendly and fun-loving, humorous, supportive, and many describe me as "bubbly". I do not mind listening when someone is down and just needs a shoulder (we all need it sometime) and/or encouragement.
So if anyone would like an online 26 year old bubbly and friendly lady to be your buddy let me know.
missy777, welcome we are always happy to hear from new chicks. sounds like you are well on your way to your weight loss goal. you are in the right place for support. this site is awesome and has some great people on it. don't have much time right now but will get back with you later. post often and check out the other threads and i guarantee you will meet plenty of buddies to give you wonderful support.
Around here I've found that its not necessary to have "a" buddy because there are sooo many supportive people that will give you nothing but encouragement.
Missy - How old is your son? Mine is 10 mths... I'm like you wanting to drop about 50 lbs.. and have a skinny husband who is supportive but doesn't understand it all. If you ever need to chat.. look me up!
Thanks for the reply. I am starting out with wanting to loose fifty pounds. I have more to loose after that, I decided to take 1 goal at a time. My son is 8 months.
Its such an exciting time with them this age.. mine is into everything.. He's beginning to try and walk... If I could stay home with him I know I'd get a great workout..
I'm a 25 year old woman also with about 50 pounds to lose! I have found these boards really helpful. You should also check out some of the other forums for more regular chat topics. If you're interested in being email buddies, send me a message with your email or let me know and I can send you mine! I consider myself a fun, upbeat person as well
Missy,
I am also a new member. My goal is to loose 60 pounds.I have a husband who works out by lifting weights.I also have three children.I have been struggling with weigt all of my life.I am starting a new program this time I realize I have to change the way I eat altogeather.I just found this site and I think the support will really help me.I am starting my new life style in the morning by shoppng for nothing but healthy foods.I can't seem to find the time to exersize there is just not enough time in the day.I work full time and when I get home there is dinner to make, homework to do,and after not seeing the baby all day I feel I need to spend time with her.By the time sh is in bed I am exhausted.I have a tred mill and some day will get back to using it.It sounds like you have a positive attitude and you will get what you want.Good Luck!
Blue - I am in the same position.. I work 5 days a week and have a 10 month old at home.. when I get home its our time together.. minus supper, bath, bedtime rituals... 8:30 or 9:00 rolls around and I'm ready for bed to! I've also got the 50-60 lb loss goal.. who knows what will happen.. as long as theres support I can do anything! Good luck and if you ever want to chat I'm usually around!
Hi Missy:
I'm a stay at home, too. My kids are 5 and 7, but boy do I remember when they were little beans.
I would love to have a buddy to lend (and get) support.
I want to lose 40# by July.
Good luck and keep posting!
I have found these boards to be one of the biggest helps around.. not only is it someplace to get out whats on your mind but people know where you're coming from and are able to tell you their experiences so you don't feel alone in the battle. Good luck to everyone and have a great week!
Would love to chat, I too need some help and assistance, I had my sone recently and am currently at home, which is a first for me having always worked.
I too have a lovely husband who eats like a horse and continues to have a six pack and a figure that any model would envy, often think that when people see us they must think that we are the odd couple! He's 6'2'' and built like a racing snake, I'm 5'5'' and am built for comfort not speed!
I'm currently weighing in at 195 pounds which for my height is way too much - I'm also storing most of that weight on my backside and thighs( I promise you J Lo has nothing on my arse!)
I have not started my diet yet - am having to see my doc next week to get the all clear after my pregnancy, came on here for some advice, I have polycystic ovaries so am not sure which diet will be best for me?
