'Morning, Beauties.

What a drag! I woke up without any clothes on and had to get dressed this morning! LMAO!

Ellis, I see you are online. Are you dressed or in jammies? Maybe sleeping in chain mail would help the hot flash problem.

Today is Whimsey's operation day for her nip and tuck. Let's keep sending good thoughts to her as she recovers. Isn't it great to have supportive friends!

Sflake, Connecticut! Why the heck do you have nice weather? The light boxes are like a desk lamp. You sit in front of them for different periods of time, depending on the strength.

Skinnydogmom, yes, your poor furries will need coats. I even have then for my furry babies - a red fleece and a blue fleece one. I hope you can get the sewing machine figured out because it's really easy to make dog coats. Holler if you need detailed instructions.

Den, I told you sleeping in your clothes would catch on! Just think about the timesaving! I hope those new meds work better for you. I think you have to stay awake to take them!

Motts, I am sure you will be glad to get home and tackle your house. SOmetimes it's nice to get back to "normal" routine, even if your house is a mess. (((Motts)))

Rowan, dogs and travel are two of my four favourite things. Jujubes are #3 and is #4. I can hardly wait for you to tell us about your website!

Deets, - enjoy the cold weather from your Canuk friends! Good work on getting back OP so fast. (Must try that someday.)

Emily, it sounds as if you will ace the exam, based on the pre-test. I hope the bloat disappeared overnight - there's nothing like having to pee in the middle of an exam.

Jen, you would adore butter tarts so I won't describe them. Think butter, eggs, cornsyrup and nuts or raisins in a tart shell.

Lizzie, you sound like you are heading for a very busy few days with your Fall Festival. I'm sure you will have fun but will be relieved when it's all over. I know the feeling well.

Where's Marcie? Big wave to all the other Beauties, Check in if you can.

I have absolutely nothing on my plate for today except the Dump run. The "lads" are all off "huntin'" so there's no pick-up this week. The village shuts down for this week! So funny! The Pub in the next town does a roaring trade with the lads and then shuts next week for seven days to rest up! I guess it's a sort of stat holiday around here.

Time for some more dog hugging and another coffee. Have a super Thursday!

Morning chickies. I am back, and feeling better about life in general. I have spent the last week feeling sorry for myself because I have been off OP. So what have I done about it. That is what I have done. I have come to the conclusion that I have to renew my commitment to myself. Put me first. Which is a very hard thing for me to do. So even though I have done nothing but eat I have been on my treadmill Monday and Tuesday and Wedensday took this morning off as I am still fighting this cold and felt very tired. So I drug my @$$ out of bed this morning and I am going to get my life and my house organized. I function so much better when I am. So that is where I am at this moment. Thanks for letting me vent. I am really glad that I have you chickies and this site in my life. Have a wonderful day.

Ruth, that is too weird re: the pub. Too. Weird.
I remember when we lived in a small town. One year, Halloween fell on the first night of hunting season. The hunters wanted to change the day of Halloween because their wives wouldn't be able to hand out candy and take the kids out at the same time. The motion was voted down.

Big hugs for Whimsey.

Lizzie, when I think of a "full-sized buttertart pie", I think of sugar pie. Yummy!! I think it's a French-Canadian thing.
Hmmmm... it's on the menu at Mckenzie King's estate. Must get out there again for high tea in the spring. Ruth... are you up for it? We'll take the very fashionable Mauvais with us.

Little Chick, good for you! You've got a great attitude!

Sflake, sounds like you could use a hug yourself, sweetie. How about detoxing today. Have you got some "good" food in the house? Hang in there, hon...

First off Ruthxxx, how do you keep up with everybody so well??? You are wonderful!! Thanks for the compliment about my pup. She's the best thing that's ever happened to me and DH -- so much unconditional love!!! I can't wait to get home every night to see her. Of course, she doesn't look like the pic anymore. She's a toy poodle and has long legs -- good for jumping on everything!!

I'm still following the plan. I splurged big time last weekend with alcohol but it was a special occasion. It was my hubby's b-day and our 3 yr anniversary so we went to Epcot for their Int'l Food and Wine festival. It was so much fun and hopefully the 12 hrs of walking we did helped to cancel out all the wine I drank. I checked the scales this morning and I'm down another pound so that makes a total loss of 6 lbs in 1 1/2 weeks. You guys have no idea how incredible that is to me!!! I've been trying so hard for so long.

Little chick, sorry things got so crazy on you. Good luck getting organized.

sflake, GET RID OF THAT CANDY!! And I don't by mean eating it. I hope you get that overload of sugar out of your system and feel better soon.

ellis, your story about changing the holiday so the boys can go hunting was too funny. Men!!!!

Have a great day everyone!!!

Mornin everyone! Sure hope your day is going good so far. We have the windows and doors open, but I can tell it's going to be another warm day. Hubby said last night that he's going to bring me a jacket when he comes down on Sunday because where we live it's a little cool

Hope everyone has a good one!

I'm with Sflake: I'm way too crabby today(read:bouncing hormones ) to be able to concentrate and reply to everybody today. This whole week I have been in a real funk with menopause and SAD. Even my little dog knows that I'm not feeling well, as she constantly climbs on my chest and puts her head down on my shoulder (that's the unconditional love that Lizzard mentioned.)
I'm working hard at"pulling myself together and getting on with it"

Big {{{{{HUG}}}} to Whimsey : She will be back here soon with better vision and a younger face (I'm jealous).

One more cup of coffee and I'll get my act in gear for the day.
Hope you all have a great one

Morning all.
Slept in a bit later today, the pup woke up in the middle of the night with a tummy ache and he was crying, he wanted to go out three times...poor little guy.

My thumb is still sore, but the swelling is going down, I was very bad last nigh, my friend came over and brought me a turkey burger with fries...and I had to satisfy my fry craving....I am now getting back OP I have no excuses ....

Den, you have been overworked, so I am certain the change in meds will kick in.

Sil- up your soy intake if your menopause symptoms are getting bad, I haven't gone through menopause yet, but I have endometroisis and have been treated with a drug called lupron. Lupron puts you into a synthetic menopause so I do know those symptoms all that well.....the tofu helps the body balance the hormones, try it. When I want a big dose, I will set a cube out and press water out of the cube, dice the cube and cook on a bakers pan sprayed with pam, I don't like the consistency of tofu, so I brown it so it is chewy, then you can toss it in any kind of sugar free sauce.

lil chick -- I am working on the organizaitonal thing...I have a smal house and I live and running a business out of it, I am just paying such cheap rent it is hard to leave, but organization is key!! good luck.

Ruth...I can't wait to share more with you all, I have to say if you asked me my top five, our list would be almost identical, except instead of jujubes.

Have a wonderful day to the rest of the lovely beach population !!!

rb

Rowan~~I am taking soy isoflavin and black cohosh supplements and snacking on soynuts daily.
I haven't tried tofu yet. I did buy some a few weeks ago but it sat in the fridge and I forgot to change the water daily, like it said. So, I tossed it out.
Maybe I will try it again but cook it like you said, the same day. I hat this feeling. I feel like I'm hot-flashing and PMSing all over the place...It is not a pretty site

Lizzard, I am SO happy for you re: your weight loss. I know how much that first movement towards losing means.

Sil, I'm sorry you're feeling crappy, sweetie. love and hugs...

Rowan, I hope your little pup and your poor thumb are better today.

DH had the morning off, and we did some more renovating. Man, are we broke. (what else is new, heh heh) Must get that apartment finished and RENTED!!
We just popped down the hill to see my BIL. He's taken the year off teaching to completely gut and renovate their house. Makes me shudder when I walk in there. It's worse than OUR place. It WILL be beautiful when they're finished, though. I'm babbling... sometimes my fingers just won't stop typing.

Den, I hope you've started those new meds. And remember to take them every day.

Just checking in real quick from work, don't have time to address everyone individually (I wish I did, I love doing that).

Winter has arrived! We have about 5 inches of snow on the ground, and it was 9 degrees when I got up this morning (that's degrees F, not C!). Brrrrrr My crazy dogs love the snow, they put their faces down in the snow and run through the yard...what a hoot! They come in covered from head to tail with snow. I wish I loved it as much as they do....but they don't have to shovel it, drive through it, etc.

After a few weeks of straying off track, I feel like I'm finally getting back on track this week. I weighed myself this morning, and I'm happy to say that I have lost the few pounds that recently crept back on, so I'm officially at 21 pounds lost right now (so my signature line is actually accurate again! ) Now to start that downward trend once again.

Have a great Thursday Beach Beauties!!
