Default Mayonnaise Question

Hi. After I read the book, I realized that on one of the pages, when Dr. Agatston is explaining how to eat a burger, that mayo is okay, in moderation. He also says not to use low-fat mayo because of the carbs added, yet on page 179, he makes a cilantro mayo using reduced fat mayo. Is there a difference? How much regular mayo can you use and can you use it on phase one? If not, I already messed up. Can someone please explain this to me?

That's a good question and had me confused too. I just started on week 2 of Phase 1. I hope somebody can answer that for us.

Well, Dr A. did not write the recipes - they were done by some nutritionist whose name escapes me. Full fat mayo does have fewer carbs - I use Hellman's - but there really is not a huge difference unless you are using a lot. I'd keep it to one or two tablespoons a day.

There are several anomalies in the book I have, all of them in the recipes. I wonder if the newest version has these corrected.

I really dislike most lowfat non fat things... there are some things that I can do, but for the most part I do whole foods. I do feel more satisfied and eventually eat less of them....

that is why I like the carb conscisous WOE

I hate to seem like Martha of the North but I sometimes make my own mayo. I guess I should post the recipe.

I'm with Martha of the north...I use regular Hellmans mayo but just a little here & there. Can't stand the taste of the other stuff.
