Default Boot Camp Challenge Day 45-Move it to Lose it!

Good morning, recruits! I hope you are all ready for the next topic in our play book: Exercise!

Love it or hate it, we just gotta do it to get, and stay, healthy! Do you think exercise is something people are born liking? Or can you change your attitude about exercise even as an adult?

Do you know if you are getting enough exercise? The right kinds? Does the topic just confuse and bewilder you?

What do you want to know about exercise? Nuts and bolts stuff like how much, what kind, when? Or the not so simple stuff like motivation, ways to enjoy it, etc?

Speak up and let me know what your thoughts on exercise are! I'll try and cover some of those areas over the next couple days.

Group Activity for week of 10/5-2369.5! We did it again...we met our goal of 2300! Since we are concentrating on exercise this week I think we should up the ante a bit...how about a goal of 2500 minutes? I KNOW we can do it if we put our minds, and bodies, to it!

Lizzie, I'm not sure when I'll be able to really chew again. My bite is supposed to improve so that my molars meet each other, but that isn't going to happen very quickly. Next time I go in I think they are going to put in those cute little rubberbands that connect the top and bottom! Can't wait for that! I can chew soft foods, but not anything that requires any molar action, like meat or fresh veggies. My kingdom for a salad! It will probably be this way for a while, so I had might as well just accept it. On the bright side, I don't sound like Elmer Fudd at all anymore!

I hope you all have a great day...try and work in some extra activity or exercise...it might help with the weekend lack of structure problem, too!

Well, I did three 40 minute walks with the Girls yesterday and have just done another half hour walking down for the paper. I really think walking is helpin although I am having a slight foot problem. My eczema has flared up again, dammit! I may just do outside chores today instead of pushing the walking .... although the woods across the creek look wonderful and there may not be many more days like this.......Could I possibly be getting addicted to walking? Even without a pedometer?

Good morning ladies. My thoughts on exercise hate hate hate it. I can not get myself motivated to do it. It has always been that way for me. I will admit when I do force myself to do it. I always feel better. It seems to be one of those things that I do for a few days and then fall off the wagon. I have a treadmill, and a bunch of exercise videos and a friend that likes to go walking but I can always find an excuse not to do it. It is funny that you brought this topic up today because I have stalled on the weight loss and I believe it is because I am not moving my butt. So I am going to promise myself that I will try to do atleast 3 days this week. ( I may need a cyber kick in the butt to keep at it) I think I will need your help . Well ladies have a great day, I am off to do some gardening and then I am going to my mothers for Thanksgiving dinner. Enjoy your day.

Little chick - I know exactly what you mean. Unless I am really "in the swing of it" (usually takes me a few weeks), I don't like exercise either. But, when I am in the swing, I love the way it makes me feel!!!!!

Sarge, I upped the minutes today!!

35 minutes elliptical cross trainer
25 minutes strength training
40 minute brisk walk

Ruth - three 40 minute walks?!?!?! You are a walkaholic!!!! Way to go!!!

OK heres my thoughts on exercise. Last year I started working out w/ a buddy . When we first started we kept thinking "people actually enjoy this"? After a couple of weeks I was amazed I started looking forward to my workouts!! Then something happened so I couldnt get to the gym. Now I'm back w/ the attitude of how can people enjoy this. I've got to get my butt in gear and sweep the dust of the treadmill!!! Oh yeah I forgot to mention I have a stinking home gym in my house now, I'm just too lazy to get out there.
anyhow, I absolutely love this site!!! You gals are great!!!!
