Thanks Gardenerjoy for starting the January thread. New Year, new me!
I'm going to again try for a 5 lb loss in January although I do have a Disney trip at the end of the month. Fingers crossed for a good month!
Thanks for starting up the new thread gardenerjoy. Sorry I've been so absent.
November and December have been pretty awful for me on the health front, and I regained everything I lost in October (and lost some of my walking stamina to boot). I'm currently about 6 pounds up from my low. Not an insurmountable amount, but I need to stop gaining. My January isn't looking any better on the work front than November and December have been, so I want to be realistic. I'm setting my January goal as Maintain. Current weight 173.4. I'd like to be that or lower at the end of the month.
This past year has really been a struggle with having knee and back issues, still not completely resolved, and out of frustration gaining back all I lost the year before. Now hoping that I can get my diet under control, work on physical therapy to strengthen my knee and back so I can get myself moving in the right direction.
I was looking for such forum and Happy that i found one. I am aiming to lose 10 lbs by 20 Jan.

It's been a bit of a week for me! Unfortunately the creative agency I've been working for as a freelancer has run out of work, so I suspect myself and most of the freelancers there will be let go very soon. For the time being, I'm still there twice a week, but after a conversation with my boss I think change is on the horizon. Initially I was upset and shocked, because it's been consistent work for me for the entirety of 2019, however this is freelancer life. I was looking forward to making the most of the raise I got recently, but alas I won't get to experience life with a nice sum of money in my bank account! It's a shame, but I have to learn to not get too comfortable in jobs like these, because situations like this are always a possibility.
However, it's a new year! Happy start to 2020 everyone! I always feel optimistic at the beginning of the year and I wasn't feeling glum for long about my job situation. I'm a) going to finish out a contract I already have with another client b) going to have more time to write my romance novel that's been on my list of things to do for over a year and c) I'm going to work on developing my skills to advance my career beyond what I would have accomplished at the agency. Huzzah! Onward and upwards.
As for weight, I'm holding steady at 193.2 lbs so nothing has changed since last week. I've not gotten back on the exercise horse yet, so this will be my second week of not exercising. Starting Monday I'll be back to my cardio dance class twice a week, a home workout Saturday and a yoga session on Sunday. I've been a bit naughty and not been intermittent fasting since I got back from Colorado, giving myself the ol' "it's the holidays!" excuse. This morning I wanted to start, but I started to feel queasy so decided to listen to my body. However that doesn't mean I can't stop eating at 7pm like I should be! Fingers crossed I'm sensible
Let's make 2020 our year, guys!

Proud of myself for not gaining loads this lazy week. I've admittedly not been fasting and I haven't exercised. I think I needed it after the bad news I got about my job. Today I'm going to continue on this path of relaxation and rest, try to gather my thoughts/motivation and truly get back to life as normal tomorrow!
I'm really struggling right now. My weigh in today was 176.6, which is a full 9 pounds up from my low back in October. I know exactly why it is happening. I've been working too many hours, and thus, with the short winter days and with my husband going to bed at 5 PM for his early morning shift, I haven't been going for my walks, and I also haven't had any energy to cook after work. So I've been going for more convenience than I was before. I haven't been eating particularly BAD, just not particularly GOOD either, and with the lack of movement, the number is creeping back up. I did really good today though, and I want to see it start moving downward again. Going to try to be better about posting here most days again, as that helped me before.
