Talking Get it OFF your chest Tuesday at the Beach DAILY 9/9

SO, what's buggin' YOU?

Are you feeling like you could scream?
Are you fed up with anything?
Are you tired of all the "looks" you are getting?
Are you bored with exercising?
Are you plumb worn out with all the food planning?
Are you getting ho hum with food choices?

IF you are, GET IT OFF YOUR CHEST NOW!

We will listen and let you rant and say NOTHING!

I would rather read your woes and frustrations than have you slip and take 2 steps backward.

The floor is yours......

SO, what's buggin' YOU?

Thanks for the invitation, Marcie, but I wouldn't dare start today! I am still in recovery mode after yesterday's shockers!

Good morning, chickies! Once again, thanks for all the support yesterday. I feel so much better today.

Harry is not talking gibberish, by the way, just bizarre statements that make sense to him. For example, "Put plugs in my soda water", meaning put in ice cubes. There is a bit of logic there when you think of popping the cubes out of the tray! Very interesting to see how the brain works. The doc says that the brain circuits will probably get themselves reorganized over time and he will put Harry on something to improve his memory.

So I am carrying on and, yes, I will look after me! I had to opt out of taking friend Betty to the hospital for her second eye operation this morning but friend Claire is doing it. This morning I'll work on my music for tomorrow's lesson, walk the girls and make a huge pot of veggie soup. The salsa tomatoes are going to be in soup au pistou. We can buy salsa but not my yummy soup!

By the way, I saw my sister for a bit yesterday - I really needed a weep and a hug - and she told me that I looked great and my weightloss was showing. That lifted me up. A well-timed NSV!

Hi to all the new chickies. I'm going to be pretty tight for time for the next few months so forgive me if I don't welcome everyone individually.

I am ticked off at pizza. Say your working around the house/yard...whatever, you work your butt off all day and now your hungry but way to hungry and tired to cook something, and the thought of ordering another salad makes you want to scream. What do you order for take-out? We used to order pizza all the time, but now I drag my butt to the kitchen or more likely I order the pizza and eat it. I know I shouldn't do it but I'm to tired to give a darn....What is a better choice?....What does everyone else do?

I woke up this AM, and my heart is beating like it should. Therefore, I'm alive and happy! I can't think of a thing that's bugging me.
The only minor problem is that I have to drive 15 miles one way to the clinic every day! The doc is still monitoring the warfarin in my body.
It is hot and humid in Wisconsin, but it certainly beats the coming weather- snow! Am watching a hummingbird at the feeder which reminds me to make more nectar for them. There are some wild turkey's up on the hill. No deer today. Some kitten's are playing outside on the picnic table and I haven't spotted the orphan kitten yet. It's mama got killed last weekend and our resident tomcat seems to be trying to show it where the food is. But, it's too scared.
Well, I think that I'll find some breakfast. Perhaps some leftover steak!

I can't even think of anything to rant about today! Life is good...I'm OP, I'm healthy, and I have a brand spankin' new Grandma! How could I complain?

Ruth, glad to hear you are hanging in there. It sounds as if the prognosis for Harry is good. Your brain may get a workout trying to figure out what he is saying, though!

Sflake-no easy answers, hon! Convenience food is notorious for being NOT so good for you! Maybe you make your own convenience food by making a double batch of a favorite recipe on the weekend? Then you could just pop in the microwave or oven? I usually just eat a salad whether I want one or not.

Tippy-So glad to hear your heart is pumping away! If you have a cassette player or CD in your car I would recommend books on tape/CD from the library. They make time fly in the car...I look forward to the next drive so I can hear what's happening! Or some of your favorite tunes will help, too! Where in Wisconsin are you? I used to live in Beloit, way down south...

I hope you all have a great day, and that the opportunity to vent has it's rewards!

Hmmm... something to rant about. Nope! Can't think of a damned thing! Life is good. As my sweet old baker friend says, "Thank God, still alive!"

Tippy, I just had leftover lamb for breakfast. You could be thankful that it's not 30 miles.

Ruth, I like the way Harry's brain is working. Hang in there, sweetie.

Sflake... pizza, huh? That's very bad. (says the granola bar eating champion) You need to make up a bunch of quick meals and freeze them. Something yummy that's OP that you can throw in the microwave. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. (oh sorry... I just noticed that this was Franny's suggestion. )

Franny, those books on CD/tape are great, aren't they! My children listen to them at night. I've got a bunch on CD for my DH and I to listen to in bed... just have to pick up another CD player...

I'm going for a walk and a coffee with a friend.

love and hugs to all... have a wonderful day!

Hm-m-m-m!! What's bugging me?????

Actually, if you really want to know...I'm tired of flipping on
the TV and getting interested in a program, and about 5 min.
into it, they pop a commercial in front of me showing all sorts
of tempting foods that I can't eat! At that point, I turn to
another station...and low and behold, another tempting one.

I have taken to reading more often to keep my sanity. But
life isn't fair!! Temptations at every turn .....and the
majority of the people in this country need to take OFF weight
and not put it on!!!

There now......I've vented, and I feel so much better!

Thanks for listening, everyone. Hope you all have a wonderful
day. Keep your mind focused, and in control. I'm sending loving
vibes to all of you right now! Can you feel them??

Talk later...off to exercise!

~Sharon

Deets-Sometimes I talk back to the commercials, which helps! Something like, "Half the nutrition at twice the price!" The added benefit is that my kids start laughing and then we are making jokes with each other instead of watching the commercials!!

Ellis-(DROOL) Lamb........yum.........HAVE FUN TODAY!!!!!

Whimsey-HI!!!!

Franny-HI! To our newest Grandaughter!!! I agree with you about music in the car.

Tippy-Sounds like you live in paradise!!! Glad to hear you are staying healthy.

Sflake-YUP! it is very difficult sometimes!! I agree with the others, keep something EASY to cook in the freezer at all times.

Ruth-I'm with Tippy. The recovery from small strokes can be AMAZING, and hopefully Harry will regain complete cognitive function over time. Although I like the way he is thinking now!! plugs for ice cubes. That is kinda cool!!! Glad to hear your sister was there for you yesterday too. Just having someone to lean on a bit and have a good weep with can make difficult times a bit easier to bear. Love you sweetie!! Hope things ease up for you soon.

Marcie-Not much today!! I'd like to be snuggled up in bed, but being up isn't all that bad either.....

Mornin/afternoon! Hope everyone is doing well!

I honestly can't think of anything bugging me today. And that just may be a first!

Hope you have a good one

I just had to pipe up with my 2 cents worth about TV commercials, as they are a serious pet peeve of mine. My favorite? A commercial for some gym or weight loss product showing all these hard bodies, followed immediately by one for some fat filled, highly processsed, unhealthy JUNK!

I record most shows that I really want to watch so I can watch when it is more convenient for me. One good thing about that is I can fast forward through the JUNK!

I like Dentrassi's suggestion of talking back to the commercials, too. The dialogue we carry on with ourselves has SO much to do with our attitudes! I have noticed that in the grocery store I am carrying on a (silent ) monologue about the temptations I face. It goes something like this:

"Boy, that danish looks delish!"

"Yeah, but I bet you could wring the fat out of it!"

or....

"Hmmm, I haven't had a candy bar in ages!"

"And with good reason, knucklehead! Nothing but saturated fat and sugar...poison, my dear....pure poison."

I find myself responding in a similar fashion when my DS7 starts talking about some new snack food....I am getting to be a real killjoy!

Okay, I'm done ranting...for now. Marcie, can we have a rant day every couple of weeks? It feels really good to get it off my chest!

Thinking of all you beauties as you navigate the treacherous waters that surround us!

My only complaint today is that for the past week I have been having a difficult time getting online in the mornings. It seems to work just fine in the afternoons, though. So I guess that I will change my usual routine of coffee with the computer in the early mornings. This may actually help me to get my exercise over with early

Ruth~~ You and Harry are still in my prayers. I hope that it resolves itself very soon

Marcie~~Congrats on your new granddaughter!!!!

Welcome to all the newbies on the beach

Now that our weather has finally cooled down into the low 80's, I've been able to spend 2-3 hours each day working in the yard pulling weeds and restoring the flower beds. The leaves are begining to fall and there is a crisp coolness in the morning air~~Fall is near

Good evening Beach Beauties! Hope everyone had a nice day.

Marcie, thanks for the invitation to vent, but right now I can't think of much that I need to rant about! When I look around me, I see that my problems, no matter how big they seem to me, are small compared to so many others, so I will just bite my tongue and be thankful for what I do have.

Ruth, you are one strong lady! You sound so in control, I'm very impressed with how well you're doing. And I am so very glad to hear that you are remembering to take care of yourself. I'm glad your sister was there for you when you needed her yesterday, aren't families wonderful? I continue to keep you and Harry in my prayers.

sflake, I agree with what the others said....your best bet is probably to have some prepared ahead and frozen legal goodies waiting for those times when you just don't have the time or energy to cook. I know if I had pizza in front of me, no way could I resist it....so the safest thing is to avoid it.

Tippy, I'm glad you're doing well too. It sounds like you have a wonderful view of animals/wildlife outside of your house...what a relaxing way to spend time, watching the birds and animals.

franny, congratulations on your new cyber grandma!! How fun!!

Hi Whimsey, hope you're doing well today.

Ellis, I hope you had a nice walk and enjoyed having coffee with your friend.

Deets, I'm with you on those commercials!! Don't they know we're dieting???

Den, somehow I always pictured you as a person who would talk back to the TV, and you've now confirmed it!! (I do it too sometimes, but I'll never admit it! )

Hi Ms24gal!! Nice to see you on the daily!

Sil, when you are done with your yard, will you come do mine? Please??? It's such a mess, and I need to get my rear in gear, snow will be here before I know it!

Hope I didn't miss anyone! There's a lot of people to say hi to when you come in so late in the day!
