Good morning the month is flying by so quickly. Hopefully spring will actually get here before month’s end!
Nothing exciting planned for today. I was productive yesterday and hope to keep the momentum going today. We have a fundraiser dinner tomorrow night in NJ. Joe is planning on staying the night as he works in Westchester on Tuesday. Thursday I have a meeting in Brooklyn and a fundraiser after work. Friday I took off for doctor appointments. We have another fundraiser a week from today. Will focus on making the best choices available and get as many rides in as possible after work to keep some balance. The scale was super kind this morning. I hope it stays right where it is until the end of the month. LOL
The concert was really good last night, though super cold coming home, I am ready for the weather to warm up. Not sure what is on the agenda today but I already have a load of laundry going.
Jekel the scale was not kind this morning to me, but TOM is on his way so I will blame it on hormones. You have a lot of fundraisers coming up.
I may be off line for the week. Long story short- my concern for my brother was correct. Friday night he ended up at ER in Sonoma and is now at UCSFO recovering from 6 hour brain surgery to remove a large brain tumor. Final pathology not in but suspected not to be the good kind. I have set alarm for 130 and fly out of Denver a 6am. My sis went yesterday. I had to work today and get the Mat ready to live without me until Friday.
This wasn’t the vacation I requested but found sis and I a nice Airbnb close to hospital and Golden Gate Park. We will have plenty of free time between visits.
Debbie your brother and your family will be in my prayers that the final pathology report will turn out good. Safe travels and take care of you and your sister.
Today is wfh for me, today is DH and mine's 30th wedding anniversary. DD2 is going to pick us up tonight and take us out to dinner to celebrate. Hoping DS and his GF can join us as well.
Good morning. Debbie, I am so sorry to hear about your brother! Best of luck and safe travels!
Pearlrose, CONGRATULATIONS! Enjoy the family dinner celebration.
I had a jam-packed weekend which included seeing good friends I hadn't seen in months and going to an excellent concert. We saw Peter and Paul (of Peter, Paul and Mary). They are still amazing!
Odd thing happened this morning. The scale showed me dropping 6 lbs since yesterday! I kept getting off and on to re-check it and finally decided the scale is broken. But then my sister got on and it was spot-on for her. I don't know what that means but I'm not counting on it staying there (though it would be nice). Although I tried very hard to be OP this weekend, I didn't expect to lose with all the eating out and having some wine. Tomorrow morning will be interesting.
My best to you all, fingers crossed Spring shows itself before too long.
Kathy
Debbie, I am so sorry about your brother, will keep you and your family in my prayers.
Pearlrose, Happy anniversary, enjoy your family celebration!
Kathy, 6lbs in one day is a lot, the body can really fluctuate, so maybe the scale is right
I weigh in this morning and I am down 2lbs. This week I don't have much going on, so I will try my best to stay OP. DH have to stay an extra week in Germany, so hopefully he will get back on the 20th.
Debbie, so sorry to hear about your brother. Safe travels to you; it is nice you and your sister can be there to support each other and your brother. Prayers for all of you.
Pearlrose, congratulations! Enjoy your dinner out.
Kathy, what a weight drop! Tomorrow's weigh in will be interesting. It's nice you were able to see friends this weekend.
Isa, that's a long time for DH to be gone. I think I would get tired of dealing with the kids alone!
Same old same old here today. The weekend's snow has melted but I am not calling it spring yet. The temperatures are still chilly. I am looking forward to walking outside again. (yes, I know; I could walk outside when it is cold but.....) Other than that it was just a normal work day.
Just stopping in before I head out the door. Yesterday's weight was up (I know it had to do with weekend splurges) so it was good to see it begin to move down today. I find it can take 2-3 days of OP eating to undo the weekend. Guess I should learn to be more thoughtful in my eating on the weekend!!
Just another work day here. Still hoping spring will show up sometime! The calendar says it can't be much longer but Mother Nature is not cooperating.
Safe travels to Debbie.
Have a great day, chicks. I'm aiming to make it a totally OP one!
I went to bed late last night (I need to stop drinking coffee after 4pm) I wake up early this morning but feeling tired. We are expecting a lot of rain and thunder today. This morning I need to drop the kids early in school, DS2 has NJHS meeting early this morning. Then I am hoping to do my walk before the rain gets here. Not much plan for today, I am organizing and de-clutering my office. I have 6 bins full of 12x12 scrapbooking paper that I don't know what to do with, last time I scrapbook was 8 years ago. Now, I enjoy digital scrapbooking more.
Last nights dinner was fun and I managed to eat op as well so win win. Today is wfh and then DH and I are going to the Cardinals baseball game tonight, I got the tickets from work for working on a project, one of my coworkers also got tickets and they are right next to ours. Now if it just wasn't cold it would be so much more fun so trying to prepare so I can stay warm. Scale is slowly ticking down from the jump from this weekend.
Kathy interested to learn if your scale stayed down, that would be an awesome swoosh.
Isa congrats on the scale moving down for you. Here's to an op day for all of us
Beth I am with you, ready to walk outside but not going to until it warms up some more
Good morning, everyone! Yesterday, I read a lot about the "whoosh" effect when dieting. It seems that 2 pounds is normal but not 6! Sure enough, this morning I was 4 lbs above yesterday, which is 2 lbs below Sunday. Except for the fantasy I had for 1 day of having even more weight loss, I am very pleased by that. I proved to myself that I can have a busy weekend including eating out and having some wine and still stay on track.
It is snowing this morning! Not too pleased about that. And it is not stopping yet as they had promised. I hope their promise of 70 degrees by Friday is more accurate. My sister's surgery is Friday and the first thing the doctor wants her to start doing is walking. For all our sakes, I hope she has some warm weather to do it in.
Good morning and Happy Mid-Week Day, Beach Beauties! It's good to be back but where the heck is Spring! (I do have snowdrops in bloom but ...)
We went to Florida through a snowstorm and came back through another one on Monday evening! Bruce drove the whole way - quite an accomplishment for a guy who is 90! (I swear he should have become a transport driver instead of a clergyman.) It was a great experience and the car was wonderful. We made it all the way to Key West and have decided we won't ever do it again - mainly because it takes too long! Despite so many meals on the road, I managed to lose three pounds - a miracle which I still can't believe!
Today I need to tackle the mega-laundry today - too tired yesterday - plus catch up on emails. Bruce is off with his pal the local baker doing deliveries throughout Eastern Ontario - just for fun! I am hoping to catch up on emails and get an appointment for a haircut. Some fresh veggies and dairy will be on the list too!
The game was good but cold we did not stay for the whole game. Today is wfh and weather is getting into the 60s today, finally. I need to do a grocery run this evening.
Kathy 2 lbs is great.
Ruth we were posting at the same time, welcome back, glad you had a great time and lost weight to boot.
