Default New and Determined

Hi!

Im new here and determined to get strong and healthy and fit! Ive been quite successful in the past, but seem to quite just when I'm finally getting lower in weight. I'm a big believer in calories in vs calories burned and I don't deprive myself, but try to eat within a specific caloric range.

I've always struggled with my weight and realize this will always be my "thing"...that I will always have to be mindful of how much I eat...and no matter how much I lose, I always have to be mindful of my lifestyle change.

I posted on here a long while back and what's different now is that I'm in my late 40's and my body can't handle my weight. I am a walker!! I can go far, but my feet are going to be the end of me, so this needs to be a healthy mix of eating less and exercise. I want to keep walking (physical, social and emotional reasons) and being lighter is going to help me continue to do so.

I'm forever hormonal and therefore can be an emotional eater. Praying I can work through this!

I'm down 5 pnds in 1 1/2 weeks and today I'm down on myself for not having lost more weight. I've been walking 4-7 miles just about every single day and eat 1200-1500 calories.

Anyway...desperately needing to do this...desperately needing support.

Thanks for reading!

It sounds like you're doing exactly the right thing! A decent number of calories plus a decent amount of walking. I do much the same (1400 calories, 4 miles) and am currently losing about 1lb a week. It was more at the start but I've lost 74lbs now (26 to go), so it's to be expected.

You've had a great loss in the 5lbs in 10 days, well done!
