Good morning!

Coffee is on! I'm going to find some! I work early today and set the alarm later so I had best get moving. Yesterday was a bust, kind of. The dishwasher didn't show up and so I got sent home at 10:30 because they had to close the back room. Not enough staff in the kitchen. The good news is I got the lawn mowed and went over and picked raspberries for my mom before the rain started.

I have been getting some niggles done here at home because tomorrow is my mom's 96th birthday. We will leave right after work to go to Glenwood and meet up with my sister for birthday dinner.

Have a great start to the week everyone!

Great start here as it's sunny again and most of the Fair is outta here not a good night for sleeping but ... today is grounds cleanup but the guys do that. We've already had coffee here at home and will go to yet more coffee at the United Church around 9:30. Checking in with the rest of the world is a great start to the day! After that I intend to do some garden tidying and meal planning for the week.

That's the plan but wish me luck and determination! Happy Monday!

Good morning Debbie and chicks to come. Thank you for getting us started. Happy Birthday to your mom. It is wornderful at 96 she is still quite active. You must have great genes is your family. Hope the dishwasher shows today.

Yesterday my day started with my ex doing a job at my neighbor accross the street. Then when I was at Stop and Shop I was talking with my other neighbor in the parking lot when my ex's wife came up and hugged me (ugh lol) I feel like my life is similar to the show Reba. Not sure if anyone besides me watched the show when it was on. My son calls his dad's wife my Barbara Jean lol

Joe came down and finished my demo job. I am eagerly awaiting the garbage men. Hoping a few dollars might encourage them to take everything I left out lol....successs!!!My town charges $25 for a bulk pick up. We just had our monthly one Friday, but I still had more stuff. The guys were VERY happy with me this morning lol.

After my second cup I am going to get ready to go riding. I do have a conference call at 9:30. Hopefully that wont take too long. I have a few things I want to make for the week. So far I am 22 days meat free (should be 23 but that's ok). I think I willl stick with it 90% of the time. At home, I'll stay "vegan" at home but if we go out I'll decide then. We went to the diner yesterday for an early dinner. I did enjoy a slice of lemon cake and fries with my grillled veggie wrap. I actually didn't finish the fries which is amazing.

Ruth - the pet awards were great!
Pearlrose - glad you got the railings done.
Beth - new workout clothes motivates me too.

Have a great day!

Good morning,

What a busy morning already, one of my employees told me she is retiring at the end of November this morning. Don't blame her, her husband just had surgery to remove for the second time cancer from his throat. I have a busy day of conference calls. DD2 has band camp this week and I have to register her for school on Wednesday as well.

Debbie enjoy your birthday dinner

Jekel sounds like you had a weird day yesterday lol, glad the vegan eating is working for you, if it was just me and the girls I think we could be vegan but hubby likes his meat and I do like it occasionally as well.

Ruth glad the fair went well this weekend.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Afternoon, chicks.

After work (and lunch ) DH and I went for a nice walk, now I'm checking in and trying to decide if I have the motivation to do anything other than laundry before I make dinner. I should probably go check the blueberries. I was going to make tacobake for dinner tonight but it's too hot to turn on the oven so I think it will be taco salad instead. I've got ww wraps for DH.

Jennifer, glad you survived your day yesterday and got the demo job finished and cleaned up.

Ruth, hope your day went somewhat as planned!

Debbie, happy birthday to your Mom!!

Pearlrose, can you believe school will be starting so soon?

Enjoy the evening, chicks.

Hey there everyone!

My internet is finally fully fuctional! We got hit by lightning right before we went to Iceland - our basement completely flooded when it blew the sump pump, but it also did something to the internet, it got worse and worse, sometimes up, but not for long. After many, many calls and visits it got fixed yesterday. Boy you don't realize how much you rely on connectivity until you don't have it.

I managed to maintain for July, which was my goal. I'm going to drive about 10 hours on Thursday to go with my daughter as she drives back for her last year at college. We're going to go to Atlanta, stay overnight and I'm going to take her shopping. It was the plan for her birthday, but she realized she had to go back earlier than she thought for sorority stuff. I'll fly home on Friday. It's our last journey back to college. I know she never wants it to end, but I do now only have one more semester to pay for and we're done funding education!! She started private school in K, so it's 17 years of tuition we've been paying.

Glad to hear all is well with everyone!

Hello!
Didn't get in here before work. My washing machine died. I had to unload the washer into my sink. Now I've got to pack up, pick up my mom and head to Glenwood. A long day it was super slow to start out with then got super busy at the end. Thank goodness! I did make money. Talk to you all from the other side.

Good morning! Good morning!

Amy, I'm glad you got your Internet fixed and you're back with us! Of course we all want to lose, but maintaining is excellent, too! Congratulations!

Well packing up last night was easier said than done. We did finally get over. Had a nice birthday dinner with mom then promptly went to bed. I got some rest but still feel tired.

We are going to the pool this morning. I am going to meet my weight loss girlfriend. Then my mom and sister are going to go to palisade for peaches. I elected to stay home. Get my laundry finished, which I had to bring over wet. Work on reading the squash garden and take it easy. Somewhere in there the dogs need a bath. That gets me through part of the day then we'll figure out the rest.

We are starting to have an abundance of cucumbers. I will take a few to the pool and see if I can give them away. Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Good morning,

Another beautiful start to the day, it gets a bit hotter and more humid today. I have a busy day ahead, lots of conference calls, PT and I have to go register DD2 for school and fork out some $$ can't imagine how people with more than 1 kid can afford registration fees lol.

Debbie oh no about your washing machine, hope you enjoyed the birthday celebration in Glenwood..edited we were posting at the same time

Amy glad you got your internet fixed, it's amazing how much we rely on technology nowadays.

Have a great day everyone!

Already hot enough here to turn on the AC - sure have not had it on much this weird summer.

Just bopping along with continuing the two household merge. I did get rid of a lot of stuff before B moved in but more seems appearing every day although the apartment is cleaned and closed. (I swear he has a secret stash hidden somewhere.) Luckily there are early fall yardsales being advertised and the local thriftshop loves bed linens from me since they are freshly washed and the pillowcases ironed. With only one double bed in the house I do not need eight complete bed linen sets!

Weight is staying exactly the same although I am eating carefully and taking my diabetes meds. I guess it'll take a while to get back on course - berries have been my only indulgence. I am amazed that I've stayed the same because we have been invited out several times each week - when B's family invites us, I always take wonderful Taco Bake which works so well over lettuce.

Gotta dash -

Good afternoon, chicks.
Not much new here. I worked this morning; in a bit I will go do an exercise tape. We have had nice weather the last few days and DH and I have been working in our walks. We grilled burgers last night (no bun, of course) and tonight I think it will be chicken. It's hot enough that I don't want to turn on the oven during the day, but I think later tonight I will make a zucchini cake since I am starting to get a bit overrun with them!

Debbie, I've taken cucumbers to work a few times myself. Sorry to hear about the washer.

Amy, my younger son will be a senior this year as well. I am SO looking forward to no more tuition bills! Have a good trip.

Pearlrose, I hear you on those school fees! Hope your work day was smooth.

Ruth, every so often DH and I talk about moving somewhere in retirement but the job of actually "moving" is scary! Good job on maintaining your weight.

Have a good afternoon, all.

Never made it here yesterday....John convinced me to take down the ceiling and the sub floor....did I mention there are still two more layers of a combination of luan and plywood to contend with. He needs me to take a picture of the junction box in the basement, but that will wait until it stops raining. Today I feel a little queasy. I think I doubled up on ibuprofen this morning and it is reeking havoc on me. Not going to lie, been needed carbs today to help keep things settled.

Ruth great job maintaining especially with how hectic your life has been.

Amy glad you got your internet issues resolved. My son only went to college for one semester. The good thing about being divorced, we split the tuition cost. Fortunately it was a state school so the tuition by today's standards was reasonable. If he elects to go back in the future, the GI Bill should really help.

Debbie sorry to hear about the washer. My old one would breakdown every few years. A three dollar washer cost me more in service calls than a new machine! I broke down and bought a new washer and dryer in 2009. What a difference!

Beth is zucchini cake similar to zucchini bread?

I'm going to relax. I really planned on an at home pedicure tonight, but really want a nap. Nap wins!! LOL I have an early day in Queens tomorrow followed by meetings in NYC on Friday ugh!

Jennifer, the cake is a beachified version of a cake my Mom made every summer. It has cocoa powder and chocolate chips. I use ww flour, swap Greek yogurt for some of the oil, and stevia for the sugar.

The zucchini bread is from Kalyn. I'm still picking blueberries so this is perfect.
http://www.kalynskitchen.com/2009/08...-wheat_18.html

I will slice and freeze both baked goods (after a taste test of course ) and then save it for a special treat or when DS is home.
