Default Eating clean while eating out and others..

I've toyed with the idea of BFL. I ended up going back to WW, nearly unsuccessfully.

I guess I have a ton of questions about this program. I have read the book, been to the website and lurked here.

How do you eat out and eat clean?
How do you know you are hitting a ten when working out?
How can I get all of my meals in when I literally have no free time?

What shakes or bars can I use (or should I use) to help me?

Do I work the program differently if I'm trying to lose weight too?

I'm certain I will think of more but for now....

HELLLLLLLLLLLP!!!!

Livein -- to help answer some of your questions here is what I do...

How do you eat out and eat clean?
I eat baked potatoes, steak, chicken breast, salmon.... I ask for dressing on the side, no sauces, butter, sour cream etc....
Ask and you shall receive... but ask you must....

How do you know you are hitting a ten when working out?
This comes from experience IMO, but if you are working out and watching TV you are not reaching your 10.... I concentrate on the muscle worked. On the last workout if I did 5 reps the next w/o I will try for 6 or 7 reps and they should be EXTREMELY difficult to do....

How can I get all of my meals in when I literally have no free time?
You have time to eat junk, you have time to eat clean!! It's all in the planning.... Plan, Plan, Plan that's all I seem to do but it works.... Get a cooler type bag, fill it up, and it's ready to eat anywhere...

What shakes or bars can I use (or should I use) to help me?
I have protein powder, and have one or two / day... and add a carb with it, whether it be fruit, oatmeal, rice or sweet tater... Don't bother with the bars IMO they are as bad as a Snicker!!

Do I work the program differently if I'm trying to lose weight too?
NOPE!!! If you eat right it will, with time, melt away.... Follow the book, eat the food, do the exercises, think HEALTH, and it will eventually come off... Maybe not the first Challenge or the second, but if you're doing everything right it WILL happen....

Oh and drink WATER!!!!!

Anymore questions? Just ask....

Take care...

Hi,

Like Livein said, you have to ask. Many restaurants are more than willing to change things up for you.

You can usually find SOMETHING on the menu that is acceptable. You can also ask to have half your order put into a doggie bag before you receive it, this way you're not picking at your food long after you're finished.

You might have to do a trial and error with Protein shakes. Different people have different tastes, and you might have to try a couple before you find something tasty. My suggestion would to use any of the low-carb protein powders. I would avoid things such as Slim Fast as they contain a lot of sugar.

I would also avoid using protein bars unless you're in a bind for something to eat. The nutritional information isn't very reliable on these things, and neither are they a good source of protein. Still, I'll eat them on occasion when I'm craving a candy bar or need something quick and on the go.

My advice for cramming in all your meals, is to make them ahead of time. I will often grill up a couple chicken breasts and turkey patties on Sunday and eat them throughout the week. I'll use a shaker and put water in it when I'm at work for a protein shake. You can even bring a small cooler with you to work and keep your food in there. You can find cooler/lunch bags in the camping area of most stores.

Hope this helps!
