Angry hello from new person

Hello -

I've just joined this forum. I've part way through my weightloss journey.

I managed to lose nearly 3 stones on my own, then got seriously stuck at plateau for 6 months. I've recently joined WW and a friend, and have lost 7lbs in 4 weeks, ( Hooray broken through the plateau !) and keep an online Diet Diary ( link in sig ).

I have a long term illness, and can't exercise, unless a stagger up the stairs to the loo counts as a cardiac and aerobic workout

I've had some health benefits already, my cholesterol levels and blood pressure have improved.

I don't have a specific goal in mind. At present I'm working towards 13st 3lbs and if/when I make it, will decided on what next.

I've left the morbidly obese BMI behind and and working towards just being overweight

Look forward to meeting you all !

HI Katya!

Well done. You are moving in the right direction. Glad WW works for you. It didn't for me I prefer Slimming World but whatever floats your boat as they say.

I too have problems with high blood pressure so I am really looking forward to it going down.

I am around 13st 4 and half at the moment but slowly getting down (I hope) to around 9-10 st. That is my goal. However if I get down to a size 16 or 14 (I am size 18 now) and look ok like that I won't be dieting down any more. I personally don't believe in taking too much weight off as it would not suit me. I cannot imagine me with my bum and boobs. Who wants to look like a scrawny chicken anyway?!!!

Hi Peacock 2 !

I am just beginning to be able to wear some size 18s ( from Evan s) and it's great.

Quite agree about realistic goal. As I can't exercise seems silly to set a goal that's unobtainable. BMI of 25 for my height is 10 st 1lb. ATM this seems totally unrealisitc for me as I've never been this weight as an adult and am big frame.

I've been an extra big lass for about 10yrs,but don't want to look like Geri Haliwell ;-)

Main motivation for losing weight for me, is for health benefits. Of course the improvement in appearance is great too.

size 14-16 is nice and shapely )

Welcome to Katya...well done indeed on your previous loss, that is such a brilliant loss and hopefully will spur you on towards your next goal.

Sorry to read that you have a chronic illness..may I be cheeky enough to ask you what it is? I think many of us are in that same boat, I have a degenerating spine which causes great unbearable levels of pain and loss of mobility, I am insulin dependant diabetic, and I caught a viral infection 18 months ago which led to severe cardiac myopathy and now my heart is functioning on a very unimpressive 26%!! So feel free to jump in and join us on our weightloss quest with the added bonus of improved health!!
We are all here to help each other, taking baby steps or ocassionally great huge giant ones, and please don't be afraid of saying whatever you like....we have all probably said it before a few times.....

Well done Katya, I dream of having lost over 3 stone. I am taking very small baby steps towards it.

I'm down to a size 18 from a size 22 and loving it.

I still think of myself as that extra large lady that I was for years. Although when I walk round shopping centres now I don't feel like the largest person they, but feel I more or less blend in with the crowd - size wise.

onwards and downwards as they say

Hi Teel

hope your weightloss helps improve your health. You've got a lot to cope with.

The way I look at it, is that at least it minimises the strain

I have ME, but add muscular spasms which are under investigation ATM. I go for EEG test in few weeks.

also have chronic problem with blood clots in legs which caurses frequent thrombophlebitis flare ups, low thyroid, blood sugar problems, and so on .... !

several other members of the family also have ME, possibly triggered by pesticide exposure.

Hi Carol
Just recently I've been able to wear few size 18s and liking it !

Down from size 22-24 (top) and 22 (bottom).

Got some linen trousers from Evans and nearly died from shock when realised that the size 20s were loose. I've had to wear jogging bottoms for years, so nice to wear something different for change...at last.

where are you off to for your hols?
