Karen - sorry to hear that your trip to the track turned out to be tough foodwise but it sounds like you picked yourself up, dusted yourself off and got back OP. Kudos on the way you handled the potluck lunch. The way you handled it is the way I think "naturally thin" people do - have a little and don't use it as a reason to go nuts. Good idea on the sushi and good for you for expecting (and ignoring) the soy sauce jump.
Anne - while I'm not an Atkins fan per se, I do think that having protein with a meal really helps keep you satisfied. I like having some ff cool whip with the jello - and thanks for the reminder - once we finish the strawberry pie (WW) I want to make some sf jello to have ready for the evening.
I finally put the breaks on the snack attacks this weekend. I didn't get to my meeting on Saturday. Instead, Tony and I got up early and started our mega gardening weekend. My cousin and her husband brought us a fabulous selection of perennials and we all worked in the garden in the morning until it got too hot (it's been in the 90s for days). Lots of good exercise and good point friendly foods - my sneak peek this morning showed a maintain from 2 weeks ago and I'm hoping to get it down so I can go back to my meeting with a loss.
I had a good interview this morning with a school district about 1/2 hour away. It's the part-time assistant teacher position - not good 'cause I wouldn't get paid for school holidays; good because it's a great school district to get into ("Gold Coast" community) and during the summer I could take extra credits (and look for a part time job!)
Back to work (23.5 business days left!) - have a great one!
Judy

129/240 workouts
Congrats on the interview. I hope you find this is something you really want to do. Also way to go on putting the snacks on hold. It is so hard for me to stop once I get started. It sounds like you garden is going to be lovely. I am looking forward to landscaping (hopefully next year).
Things are going pretty well for me, the sneak peek looks good. Yesterday I didn't do to well on the water and ended up drinking way to much Diet Coke. I kids' show is ending and I am taking over the TV to do my Pilates for Dummies tape.
Judy - Good for you for getting hold of yourself in the snacking department! Your garden sounds like it will be gorgeous. Glad the interview went well!
Anne - It could've been a lot worse than diet Coke. That's a weakness of mine too. Way to go on doing the pilates tape.
Meeting night tonight. I think not having a meeting last week was a bit detrimental to me, as I've had a few minor slip ups in the last few days. Need that weekly pep talk to refocus. I'm also out of my Just2 Points bars - they're sooo good.
Hope to have a decent weigh in tonight. Talk to you tomorrow!
Anne - I agree with Karen - you could do a lot worse than having a bit too much Diet Coke! Still, water is important. Did you do better today? Way to go on doing the Pilates tape!
Karen - Yup, I know what you mean - I don't do as well when I don't go to my meeting. I'm so glad you like the Just 2 Points bars. Good luck at your weigh in!
I had a so-so day yesterday program-wise. I did my yoga tape and was within my range until late and then, I don't know, I snacked. I don't know why but I counted the points this morning and plan on making them up today. Tony and I did a little planting this morning and plan on doing a little more this evening. The key, as usual, is the snacking this evening. I'm going to remind myself that once I get to lifetime, I can apply to work as a receptionist at WW's - a part-time job I have my eye on for the fall, since I won't be in school until the spring. Since lifetime is 6 wks after goal, I have to get my butt in gear!
Karen - Congratulations on that great loss! You are really on a roll. I like the idea of working at the evening meetings - that sure would help my evening snacking issues!
I had a pretty good day yesterday. I rested workout-wise as I had planned although my hip is still sore. I made an appt with the orthopedist for Friday - I hope it will be better before we go on vacation - Tony and I plan on playing some tennis. I did snack last night but didn't go over max and ended up banking a couple which decreased my deficit a bit. I hope to get rid of it today - once again of course, it depends on my evening snacking. I'm going to make some sugar free jello - that should help. I did an upper body and abs workout at lunch. No cardio for me until I know what's going on with this hip.
Jennie - hope you find the motivation you need to succeed. I find this board incredibly helpful. It's great to know there are others out there rooting for you and caring how it's going.
Judy - hope your hip feels better soon. I had the same thing last winter, it was very uncomfortable. Good idea with the sf jello...try it with some ultra low fat cool whip for a special treat.
Had a good day...within points, and got in a good walk. Mike's cousin is staying with us for a few weeks, she's keeping the fridge stocked with fresh fruit salad: honeydew, cantaloupe, peaches, nectarines, mango, papaya, strawberries, blueberries, & grapes. OMG it's soooo good! I don't have the patience to prepare it, but I'm loving having an endless supply!
Have a good Thursday...not long till the weekend now!
Jennie - Are you new to WW? Are there any questions that you have about the program? We've all fallen off the wagon, believe me. I think the important things to remember are a) keep trying - the only way we are sure to fail is if we give up and b) try not to beat yourself off for falling off the wagon - try not to let yourself get into the mindset of "well, I already blew it so I may as well keep going by eating XXX". If you slip, forgive yourself and move on.
Karen - Way to go on a good day - walking and staying within your points range! How wonderful to have such a yummy fresh fruit salad all prepared. What a great house guest! That's super about your sneak peek - I'm sure you can keep it up! Yeah, the hip is a real pain - I have an appt with the orthopedist tomorrow - I'm sure part of it is arthritis but I think there's some kind of inflammation in there that I hope he can treat. I feel like such a slug - I need to get moving soon!
I had a so-so day yesterday. I did a good biceps and triceps workout yesterday (and feel it today) but I did a little too much snacking last night. I WILL NOT repeat that tonight - I want a good (at least a maintain) weigh in on Saturday after two weeks of being absent from meetings. I think I need to pull out my knitting to keep my hands busy!
Karen way to go on the weight lose. You are doing so well.
Judy, I hope your hip feels better soon and that the doctor appt goes well. Your weeks at work must be dwindling down to just a few. Lucky you. I had to laugh when you said you need to pull out your knitting. As I was reading your message (and hadn't gotten to the end) I was just thinking I should get out my knitting and was wondering if you were still at it. I guess great minds think alike.
Jennie, Welcome I am looking forward to getting to know you.
I am down this week. 178!!! It has been so long since I a have seen the 170s. I love being here, but can't wait to hit the 160s
Judy - hope all goes well with your appointment tomorrow. And good idea about pulling out the knitting. Much more productive than doing the hand-to-mouth thing.
Anne - hooray for you for getting into the 170's!! Say goodbye forever to the 180's. I think you must be right about great minds thinking alike: pork tenderloin and salad at our house tonight.
I've eaten tons today, but I'm way under points. Have to go look in the kitchen to find eight points worth of food. It's not very often I have this problem at the end of the day - it's usually me trying to figure out how to not exceed my points. No particular challenges coming up in the next few days; on Sunday morning we're going to the wharf to buy fresh shrimp off the fishboats and will have a shrimpfest on Sunday for dinner. My only concern stretching the points far enough to have some melted butter with them. I should have some banked by then.

Yes I am new to Weight Watchers, The only question I have right now is that if an Item is 0 points you can eat as much as you want of it right? The activity points that you earn go into the bank correct?
