Default Fathers Day breakfast

So I am going to weigh in tomorrow for my second time and start my third week but my husband has just informed me that he wants to go out to breakfast after I weigh in ... I am very nervous about this what would you recommend I do for a meal I just don't want to screw things up since I have been doing so good... I was thinking just scrambled eggs.

Veggie omelet. No cheese. Make sure they use only real eggs.
Either that or just coffee...have your packet before you go.

I am not sure what you IP guys do, but boiled eggs are always the best way to go. And everywhere has them. 70 calories a pop and tons of protein.

God I love boiled eggs. It's a diet in a can (shell)!

I'll second what Lisa suggested, but what I would do in Phase 1 is ask for a 2-egg white only omelet (and I made sure to specify NO EGG BEATERS) with veggies, usually mushrooms and spinach, maybe tomato if I haven't had any restricted veggies yet. It's not likely there will be more than 1 cup of veggies total in the omelet no matter what combination you use. No cheese. Then I would either bring a bar to have afterward, or have a packet when I got home. It can be done!

You don't want to get scrambled eggs unless you can be VERY specific about how they are prepared - most restaurants whisk milk or cream into their scrambled eggs. IHOP adds a ladle of pancake batter to theirs.

Thanks everyone looks like ill get the omelet! The place we go to is all organic and they use there own eggs so I know the eggs won't be a problem for the omelet but never really thought of what they would add if asked for scrambled!

Just curious why you specified "no egg beaters" and Lisa said to make sure to ask for "real eggs". Are egg substitutes not allowed?

Egg beaters are processed food. They take egg whites, add back artificial nutrients (to replace what was in the yolk), vegetable gums for texture, "natural flavor" and coloring, and call it eggs. You are better off having either a whole real egg or egg whites. They're finding more and more that foods they thought were really bad for us (olive oil, eggs, butter) are actually WORLDS better than the chemical concoctions that manufacturers came up with to replace those things in the name of "being healthy".

Can you also specify for them to fry it on oil? Just in case they put butter on their pans.

Yup. And add saturated fat and dietary cholesterol to that list.
Originally sat fat was vilified by marketing to sell Crisco, which we now know is WAY WORSE (hydrogenated oil). It wasn't any research that said sat fat was bad, just marketing. Lots of theories out there but most studies of sat fat are also tied with carbs (burgers, fries, chips, etc).

I am so glad to read this. My coach said I could have egg beaters. Not that I eat them all the time but I occasionally will have them.

I had an amazing omelette while i was on vacation last week. It was the breakfast 'special' omelette and included 2 eggs plus kale and some other allowed veggies. I told them to replace the chicken sausage with shredded chicken and no cheese of course. It was an amazing meal and i felt totally OP - PLUS enjoyed the 'breakfast out' experience. Another day i ordered boiled eggs and coffee because i knew i would also be eating dinner out. I felt comfortable with my choices both days but on the 'omelette' day I did be sure to give up my oil for the rest of the day.
