I really dislike sweat. I like the fact that I am working hard enough to be sweaty, but I don't like BEING sweaty. UGH!!!
The worst part is the places I sweat! I find that my underbelly, and underboob area's get the most sweaty, then my face then everything else! My underwear/bra are soaked by the time I am finished. Blech! So uncomfortable.
Should I be putting antiperspirant/deodorant in those areas or is that not recommended? (not my face)
AND this might be a tad bit TMI, but when I am working out on anything with a seat... I am REALLY REALLY self conscious about any sort of.... um.... condensation? left behind on the seat when I get up. I am terrified someone is going to see it before I get a chance to wipe it down and think that I peed or something!! Slightly irrational, I know

I hate being sweaty too It's been nice focusing more on weight training and intervals instead of long bouts of cardio because my heart rate goes up but it's not sustained enough for me to get really gross. It also takes more for me to work up to a sweat now that I'm smaller because I'm cold all the time. Unfortunately even a little sweat makes me stinky!!
I wouldn't worry about the sweat on the machines. Just walk by the benches after some of the big guys have been using them--gross!!!
A small towel is the best piece of exercise equipment you can own. Mine goes everywhere with me. Even on the treadmill where I have mastered the art of removing my glasses and wiping my face while still running and not falling over and killing myself.
Something's wrong with me. I actually enjoy being sweaty and am disappointed if a workout doesn't trigger enough sweat to satisfy me. Sick, I know!
Not at all! I take a kind of a perverse pleasure in seeing how much sweat my body generates. I think part of this fulfillment comes from when I was much heavier and used to sweat in regular movement situations...walking up stairs, folding clothes, picking up a not all that dirty room in my home, etc. Now, I have a sense of pride that my level of sweat is directly related to my effort.
I don't like to sweat because it prevents me from going further. Running is a case in point. Sweat in my eyes is a real nightmare. Plus having to wipe sweat off you while running gets you out of the flow.
When I sweat, it's not a bead here and there. It is dripping off me! You could fill cups with the stuff I produce. My T-shirts look like I have jumped in a swimming pool. Same with the hair. My arms are moist. Everything is wet.
I so hear you, the amount of time I spent in school sitting on my jumper so I wouldn't leave a sweaty patch on the seat when I got up! eurgh. And that was when I wasn't even doing any exercise
Well at least I am not alone! I am terrible for forgetting a towel. I should keep a small stash in my gym bag I think.
Ian I hear you with the sweat in your eyes, man is that ever annoying. I too tend to pour the sweat. One day I thought my water bottle had leaked because I noticed that the treadmill was quite wet... then I realized it had all come from me! I don't know how you can run with your glasses on, they would just slide right off the front of my face the moment I started to sweat.
It's too bad sweat wasn't really fat melting. I think I would really really like to sweat if it worked that way!
maybe I will bring an extra towel to sit on so I don't have the swass (sweaty @ss) problem so bad!
Swoobs and Swass... Damn, that should have been my title for this thread.
ian I have NEVER mastered the art of taking off my glasses and being able to run LOL i'm sooooo blind without them and have no sense of depth perception either
I do like getting in a hard enough workout that i'm covered in sweat when I leave....and I like working out hard and short, as opposed to moderate-paced and longer....i'm all about efficiency
