Default Thin4Life - June 2, 2003

Good Monday morning. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was busy, but fun - a good mix of work and play.

Weighted in officially at WW Saturday morning - the first time since early January. I was up 3.2 lbs, which isn't bad considering the long hiatus, month-long vacation, etc. I'll use that weight as the starting point for our mini-challenge. I'm feeling like I can do this girls!!

Journaling has been much better, and so has my water consumption. Now if I could just manage to get those points under control.

Must say I enjoyed Saturday's meeting. I went to the early one - 7:45 a.m. There were fewer people and more of an opportunity for everyone in the group to get involved. The topic was the benefit of setting a Labour Day goal and it was a good one. No one wants to think about the end of summer, especially since it hasn't even begun here yet but this kinda fits with Melissa's quote about being able to change your deadline but not your goal.

No business travel this week. I think I'll finish painting the room downstairs and hang up my brushes for the summer.

Whazz up with everyone else?

Susan

Well, I'm in the office for a short time this morning and then I'm off to San Francisco for a training class. I'm looking forward to being out of the office, but oh the food is so good in SF.

This weekend DH and I went to a play that was very interesting called "Love Letters." DH's running club had a picnic and end-of-the year awards. It was a nice afternoon. Sunday was work in the yard day and go to the beach! That was nice. It's been very hot here--90's.

Susan--like your avatar! I'm glad you only have that much to lose; it's better than you thought, right?

Talk at you next week.

Good morning!

I had a pretty good weekend--the weather on Saturday was pretty bad...pouring down rain all day long. I had a nice time at the luncheon on Saturday. Time flew by and it was SO relaxing. Yesterday was sunny & cool. Took a ride to my brother's and he changed a couple of belts on my car for me. All in all it was productive in a lot of ways.

I didn't do bad with my eating--I was on the higher end of my points but not too bad. I am doing well with my water and being more mindful about my choices and asking myself if it's something I really want. I'm hoping to get out and get a little exercise in later on today. It's supposed to reach the low 60's today and then the rain returns tomorrow.

Susan:Good for you for going to a meeting on Saturday! Our early morning meeting on Saturday has record attendance (Usually 84+ members)...a lot of them don't stay but it makes for a busy morning.

Domina: My motto is if it's something you really want and can't get all the time then go ahead and have a little! Hope the training goes well!

Hard to believe it's the 2nd of June...hope everyone is doing well!

Hi everyone,

Like Domina I'm in the office cleaning up some obbs and bobs before heading out the door to beautiful Denver, CO and Longmont (not so beautiful) for a meeting tomorrow. I then leave from Denver to start my way west to start my way east to St. Pierre/Miquelon. Its going to be hot in Denver and Seattle and a brisk 50 degrees F in SPM. My bag is full of warm clothes and weighs a ton.

I had a good weekend, worked, gardened, watered, exercised, read a book etc.... Did okay on hte points, but not as good as during the week. I'll give it a four star rating.

I like the idea of a labor day challenge. We could try and figure out how many weeks until then and do a patch type challenge.

Then again, labor day falls on my 12th anniversary. It would be nice to be only 20 lbs more than the day DP and I consider to be our day. I was such a little thing back then.....

Have a great week ladies. I'll post from either Seattle, denver or Boston from a airport club near you......

Hi all,

Had a pretty good even with travel.

Looks like the east coast is getting slammed with thunderstorms today. Stay dry ladies!

Susan, I'll wave as I go over Dartmouth! Good luck on another seven days of clean living.

Melissa- I also like the idea of changing the deadline, but not the goal. I'm keeping that in my head.

Domina- enjoy SF! Unfortunately, I'll be down there week after next with a household issue. No fun for me.

Okay ladies, I ran for my work out the paltry workout facility (hey, at least they have one) and now I'm off to figure out how to burn a cd on this machine of mine.

Hey lala, I'll be looking for you. Not a cloud in the sky here this morning, but that will no doubt change... (typical Maritimer's take on weather).

Another day of cleaning living behind me. Am sorta getting into this, although I must admit the frozen yogurt was calling my name last nite even tho I wasn't hungry. It takes a few days to get in touch with the internal appestat, n'est-ce pas?

Lala: If Labour Day marks your anniversary, that would make a great target, wouldn't it? By then you could be svelte enough to throw caution to the wind and eat whatever you d*** well want to on your special day.

Melissa: How is your son's eyesight? Any improvement?

Domina: Have fun in SF. I've never been there, but my sister has a few times and liked it a lot.

Gotta run. Goal for the day: don't continue eating just because you have points left. Sigh - it's like being right back at square one.

Good morning!

I'm going to start building my boat...more rain. Usually by this time we've had a at least a few nice days, i.e. 75 degrees, but so far we haven't seen anything even close to that! My allergies are out of control and the constant switching between rain & cold has got my head all stuffed up. The pollen counts have been high so I'm hoping that things will even out real soon!

I didn't do all that bad yesterday--went to a graduation party and just had a small amount of potatoes/stuffing...they had chicken for the meat so that was good and low point---gave the skin to DH. I ended up in bed early (10 pm) and feel a little more rested this morning. There's just way too much going on and not enough time!

I did manage to get out for a short 10-minute walk this morning before work. We're heading into our busy time so things are gearing up here in the office.

Susan: DS eyesight is still the same--he still sees double when he moves his head a certain way. We have another appointment next Wednesday so we'll see where we're heading. I like your goal for today...

Hi Melissa. I think it's just you and me for the remainder of the week with both lala and Domina on the road.

I took yesterday off from work. It was a beautiful sunny day, and we're not too swamped here, so decided to take advantage since we're expecting rain for the rest of the week. I used the time to do a bit of gardening; it was good to get digging in the soil again.

I've been kinda disappointed with my efforts to stay within points this week, but I must be doing something right since the scale seems to be reading a few pounds less than last week. We'll see for certain on Saturday. I try not to weigh myself during the week but the need to know is overpowering at times.

DH called from the ship last nite. It was good to hear from him, even though that ship-to-shore thing can be awkward. I think they're still on scheduled to arrive back in town Monday morning.

Well, that's it from this end. How are you doing?

Hi Susan! I sure hope Lala and Domina are having better than we are here! It started raining again last evening and is continuing today...*sigh* everything is definitely green. I'm feeling better this morning; yesterday I had a horrible sinus headache and felt like I was "boneless". I went home from work yesterday and took a nap and felt quite a bit better. I was disappointed yesterday at my weigh in--I was up 1.8# which was not expected. I think it was due in part to my not feeling well. I got on the scale at home this morning and I was down so hopefully next week will be a lot better.

My walking outdoors has been curtailed due to the lousy weather and it's frustrating. I've been sleeping in in the morning rather than getting up and doing my tapes...I need to get myself back into the habit of getting up a little earlier so I can do that again. The kids are done with school so that'll make the mornings a little less crazy. DS #1 is graduating next Tuesday (10th)--it's kind of a bittersweet thing for me.

Not much else happening here...I'm making a real effort to stay at my target for points and I'm definitely getting in all my water. Here's to a successful day for both of us!

Update: Friday, June 6

It's a sunny morning here--thank goodness! I'm planning on getting out for a walk over the lunch hour provided the weather holds out. I can squeeze in a 20-minute walk before my hair appointment. I had a 20-point day yesterday and I'm excited! I've been able to get 2 days in a row where I'm where I want to be point-wise. Now to work on the exercise. I have a busy weekend WW-wise; I'm working this evening, tomorrow morning and Sunday *phew* and then I'm off until the following week. Not much else going on. I've been able to get through quite a bit of stuff at the office yesterday and the plan is to get through the final folder today. So what are your weekend plans?

Melissa:

That is a busy weekend you have lined up. My plans have changed slightly; DH called from the ship last nite, and they'll be arriving home a day early - Sunday morning! It will be good to have him back.

The rest of the weekend looks like this: some household chores tonight, followed by a long soak in the bathtub with a new book. Saturday - early WW meeting (bad day yesterday, not expecting anything much in the loss dept.), three hour visit with my "family" in the afternoon (volunteer work), perhaps a movie tomorrow nite.

Have a good one.

Susan
