Default Hihi!

Let's see here... where to start...

I've always been a bigger girl. In school I was always the "fat friend" and at that point I didn't care all that much. I chalked it up to my whole family being overweight and figured I was doomed to be overweight for the rest of my life (pretty deep stuff to think about starting at the age of 13).

Since high school I have struggled with my weight, participated in fad diets, yo-yo'd my weight so much that even I didn't know what was going on. I know I was unhappy, but that didn't have a ton to do with my weight, it was the rest of my life. My weight just suffered because of it.

March 2012: I made big changes in my life and now, here I am, just over a year later, and I'm finally ready to get my health on track.

I've been eating healthy (and proportionately) and working out on a regular basis for two months now and I've seen amazing results. I'm using SparkPeople to track my food because, let's face it, I suck at writing stuff down in a note book and keeping it with me. I have an app on my phone and it's become second nature to just plug in my meals.

I have quite a ways to go before I hit my overall goal, but that's ok. Slow and steady gets lasting results, right?

Yup, slow and steady wins the race. If you lose weight too fast, you run the risk of gaining in back all over again in a few years time. Do expect that it might take a year, or slightly less, to lose it all. If you hit a rough patch, don't hesitate to post something on this forum. We all have off days I have one yesterday.

Thank you! I will definitely use the forum as a tool for when I have a rough day. I know they happen and I want to be sure that I don't get too hard on myself
