Default A small victory

For the last couple of months, I have been spending all my emotional energy supporting my son who is going through a painful and difficult split-up. While I haven't gone completely nuts with my eating, I haven't been on any sort of plan at all.

I weighed myself this morning and I haven't gained much weight - maybe half a pound, but that's nothing compared to what it could have been. I am feeling inspired!

You are doing awesome, gailr!! Congrats!!!

It's so hard when we are stressed out and just want to go back to our old ways and throw away everything we worked so hard on.

You proved to yourself that food doesn't have to be the answer anymore and I say only gaining the 1/2 pound is a total win. You did great losing 46lbs so far, keep up the good work even if you have to take a little break from losing.

I hope things get better for you and your son soon.

Sounds like a huge victory to me! It is so hard to remain on plan when dealing with emotional issues -- especially with a child where a lot of what you can do is limited to providing an ear and a shoulder. Hope that your son finds an easier path for himself.

That's really a victory. Seriously, sometimes NOT gaining is even more of a success than losing! Great job!

You kept yourself in the game and that's great . Agree with LockItUp about not gaining too being hard.

Don't forget to give yourself a pat on back....it difficult to watch our children struggle and have anything left in our tank for ourselves.

Your son will be fine he has you in his corner. A good mom has a hard time seeing their child in pain no matter how old they are.

But you also need to be in your corner for yourself also.
Try to take sometime and to regroup.
Hope everything works out for your family .

Keeping the weight off during stressful times is a huge, huge victory. It means you've broken a lot of longtime habits and that is a very good thing.

Hope things settle down for you and your family.

Thanks again for your generous support. It helps.

I just made myself some roasted red pepper dip to put on my Wasa or AkMak (instead of chips). It's time to celebrate! Here's the recipe, only I just realized that I used garbanzo beans instead of Cannellini beans, in spite of the title of the recipe. LOL. It tastes good anyway. I only used 1 T of EVOO.
