Hey everyone, I just wanted to know if it was normal to gain weight while on a diet. I have been working out for 1 month,5 days a week, for an hour a day and I gained 3 pounds. I have been told that I look smaller and when I look in the mirror I look smaller. Any advice??
The obvious place to start is: How much are you eating?

Weight is not the best way to measure progress.
It's possible you're losing fat, albeit slowly.
Yes, totally possible. It is a good idea to record measurements as well as the scale data.

The scale isn't the only way to measure progress. You said you're getting smaller--if your caloric intake is at a deficit, then you are losing fat (and inches) no matter what the scale says. It's hard to ignore that scale though, I know. Keep staying the course--eventually the numbers will follow.
