Hello! I also watched Hungry For Change and was very inspired by it. Prior to that one though, we watched Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. There are a TON of movies about this on Netflix. At any rate, after the Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, my husband and I started juicing and haven't looked back. We both feel more healthy and totally rejuvenated. Additionally, it has inspired me towards a much more clean diet in general. After years of trying to finding a magic bullet, or diet, I got it that it doesn't exist. Finally, I don't think about losing weight, but about getting healthy.
The Mean Green Juice (that Joe talks about in the movie Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead) is great:
1 cucumber (I don't peel it)
4 celery ribs
2 apples, cored
6 -8 kale leaves
1/2 lemon (rind removed)
1 tablespoon fresh ginger (I used about 1-inch of the root)
To get the most out of the kale, wrap the leaves tightly together and push through the juicer.
The result is this crazy green drink that is quite delicious. It's super yummy!
I've also been drinking an apple/carrot juice in the evenings, which is 4 carrots and 2 apples. Just delicious.
There are a lot of assertions and statements about the healing nature of juicing. I say to keep your mind open, try things here and there and discover what feels good!!!!
