Default Juicing?

Hi Everyone,

I feel like I'm in a rut..

I've almost lost my first 20 pounds but I can't quite hit it, and of course, this week is TOM and I'm RAVENOUS!

I recently watched a show called Hungry for Change and it was very interesting. I wanted to know if anyone has tried Juicing and had success, or maybe had some recipes they'd like to share. I want to give it a shot and use the juicer that we've had in our cupboard for, well, ever.

Hello! I also watched Hungry For Change and was very inspired by it. Prior to that one though, we watched Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. There are a TON of movies about this on Netflix. At any rate, after the Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, my husband and I started juicing and haven't looked back. We both feel more healthy and totally rejuvenated. Additionally, it has inspired me towards a much more clean diet in general. After years of trying to finding a magic bullet, or diet, I got it that it doesn't exist. Finally, I don't think about losing weight, but about getting healthy.

The Mean Green Juice (that Joe talks about in the movie Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead) is great:
1 cucumber (I don't peel it)
4 celery ribs
2 apples, cored
6 -8 kale leaves
1/2 lemon (rind removed)
1 tablespoon fresh ginger (I used about 1-inch of the root)

To get the most out of the kale, wrap the leaves tightly together and push through the juicer.

The result is this crazy green drink that is quite delicious. It's super yummy!

I've also been drinking an apple/carrot juice in the evenings, which is 4 carrots and 2 apples. Just delicious.

There are a lot of assertions and statements about the healing nature of juicing. I say to keep your mind open, try things here and there and discover what feels good!!!!

Good morning! I love JUICE! I have never actually juiced for weightloss becuase I am on WW and it just doesn't go with my program. But we totally juice. In fact, I am sipping on an apple, kale, ginger drink right now! Its so fresh and delicious. It fills me with energy!

We tend to drink more in the summer when its hot, and there are great deals on fruits. Great luck to you! Enjoy that delicious fructose!

Hey there! I love real juiced, juice. I don't use it for the weight loss but I love the way I feel from it, you will start to crave it and store bought junk won't cut it anymore. I think that alone is enough to keep me going. Many documentaries have impacts on my eating habits, so if you enjoy them them I would say continue watching. I really enjoy Forks over knives, too.
