Default Starting over looking for advice

After being away for a while I have began my journey again but this time with many more obstacles and I am looking for advice on how I can overcome these obstacles. I am looking to loose around 25 lbs but I have a 3 year old son with special needs who is in and out of the hospital so I am not always able to eat healthy and I can't go out to the gym. He is on life support at home so I need something that I am able to do in his room so that I can keep an eye on him at the same time. Any tips or advice are greatly appreciated.

My heart goes out to you np. It isn't easy for you right now, and the mere fact that you have chosen to try again showsso much courage and strength.
My advice is to carve out some time for yourself too. See if you can get someone to stay with your son for say...2 hours each day, and use that time to shop for and prepare the right foods . You should also get some exercise...maybe a walk outside, or if you can, yoga, or some other stess reducing phsical activity. You need to take care of yourself to take best care of your son.

I agree with every word marigrace wrote! As a caregiver, it's even more important that you take the time to care for yourself. You are an incredibly strong person to be dealing with all of this, and my heart goes out to you and your family!

As far as things you are able to do while in his room, have you considered an exercise bike or a treadmill? Something that's fairly easy to do, while still allowing you enough focus directed at your son.

If you can get a tv in his room, and some hand weights, you could work out with videos. You could even get some of those headphones (I call them "old people headphones" because I've only ever seen my grandfather use them, and he's 95) where the sound of the television is directed through the headphones to just you, so your son is not disturbed by the volume.

I wish I had better advice, but this is not something I've ever had to deal with. Your strength and determination is inspiring, and I wish both you and your son the best. Welcome to 3FC!
