So running is my main form of exercise, although I swim and bike as well... But I just haven't been that into it lately... it happens to me every so often, it will pass... but in the mean time... I've started doing some indoor rowing workouts and I really like the change of pace...
Anyone here use an indoor rowing machine? or maybe even have one at home? I really think it might be something that I would like to make a regular part of my work out routine...
Curious to hear other people's experience with them...
I did some research and decided to go with an indoor rowing machine by Concept 2 ... They have a pretty active online community where you can track your progress and participate in all sorts of challenges...
Looking forward to getting more in to this whole rowing thing...
I just bought a concept2 and it *should* be here Wednesday! I'm excited. I really enjoyed rowing the times I have done it. It is something I'm naturally good at, and it's great for tall people! How has it been going for you so far?
CrossFit has you use the rowing machine a lot. If you use the proper technique it's quite effective and will definitely leave you winded. It is a full body exercise. I think you'll really enjoy it.
Try doing 500m as fast as you can with 1 minute rest between sets. Great workout.
I am loving my Concept 2... I highly recommend it... It was just the change of pace that I was looking for... Now I can row and watch the news which makes me feel like I'm not completely wasting my time anymore
Through concept2's UK page, they have an interactive weight loss plan. They have other plans as well, but weight loss was my concern so I didn't look around to much at the other ones. You can also sign up for their Daily Row workout via email to keep things interesting.
Rowing machines are a welcome boost to any house gym, they can take up a lot of area. Getting this into consideration, you want to create sure that you have it that is right for you.
