Default Scary stories for halloween...

Halloween is right around the corner so who has a scary story to tell?
This one gave me the creeps so bad.

The devil baby
A man went to a bar with some friends, they had left the bar before he did, and he decided to walk home. He took a short cut across the old wooden bridge by a creek. When all of a sudden he felt a cold rush of air, and then everything went dead silent. As he got to the middle of the bridge, he said he heard the cries of a newborn. It startled him because there are no homes anywhere near that bridge. As he looked over the bridge, he saw a small white blanket with something moving around in it. That's when heard the baby cry again.

Very quickly, he ran down the hill by the bridge to grab this abandoned baby. As he was holding it, he pulled the blanket from its head and said the baby couldn't have been more than a week old. Just then the baby stopped crying and opened its eyes.

The baby's eyes were pitch black with no white nowhere around them. The baby looked directly at him and said with a deep demonic voice, "Look, daddy, I have teeth" as it was pointing at these very pointy teeth. The man froze as that thing began to laugh a very demonic laugh. He dropped that thing and ran out of that ditch where he proceeded to run home as fast as he could, falling and tripping.

The baby thing followed him home, jumping from tree to tree, laughing at him and calling him a bad daddy. As he was standing on the porch banging on the front door that the demon baby was perched in our front tree holding on to a branch with one hand and putting his finger over his lips saying, "Shh."

you mean true stories right? ...i have a few...

to some people, weird things around the house would suggest a ghost and they'd be terrified...i'm not so scared....one particular old carved Native paddle kept falling off the wall for the longest time no matter how well it was put up there...things disappear and cannot be found, no matter how much searching, and then turns up again right in the middle of the floor

one night our kitchen light/light base randomly fell from the ceiling and shattered all over the floor in the middle of the night

my younger son used to watch "something" move around the room when he was a baby, smiling and waving at it...when i could see nothing there...we'd hear him babble-stop-babble in his room like he was having a conversation with someone...when i'd put him to bed, he'd be smiling and waving at something over by his closet that would move to another area of the room

one night home alone with the kids, our dog started growling fiercely at the back glass doors...he continued to bark and growl for nearly half an hour and nothing was out there, not even a bird or a bug, i checked....i looked all around the outside of the house and nothing was there...suddenly the big heavy doors made a big "thump" sound like someone banged on it with their hands and it was over, our dog stopped growling and whatever it was, was done

our dog's done that a few times, barking and growling at something in the corner when we see nothing there

it doesn't really bother me...i dont mind ghosts as long as they're well-behaved...the TV used to turn itself off and on when i'd watch it in the evenings...turning off AS SOON as i was settled on the couch...finally one night i said "please turn the TV back on" and sure enough, it turned right back on and never did it again

Fair warning, once it clicks, you might lose sleep haha.

Quote:
A man went to a hotel and walked up to the front desk to check in. The woman at the desk gave him his key and told him that on the way to his room, there was a door with no number that was locked and no one was allowed in there. Especially no one should look inside the room, under any circumstances. So he followed the instructions of the woman at the front desk, going straight to his room, and going to bed. The next night his curiosity would not leave him alone about the room with no number on the door. He walked down the hall to the door and tried the handle. Sure enough it was locked. He bent down and looked through the wide keyhole. Cold air passed through it, chilling his eye. What he saw was a hotel bedroom, like his, and in the corner was a woman whose skin was completely white. She was leaning her head against the wall, facing away from the door. He stared in confusion for a while. He almost knocked on the door, out of curiosity, but decided not to. This disinclination saved his life. He crept away from the door and walked back to his room. The next day, he returned to the door and looked through the wide keyhole. This time, all he saw was redness. He couldn’t make anything out besides a distinct red color, unmoving. Perhaps the inhabitants of the room knew he was spying the night before, and had blocked the keyhole with something red. At this point he decided to consult the woman at the front desk for more information. She sighed and said, “Did you look through the keyhole?” The man told her that he had and she said, “Well, I might as well tell you the story. A long time ago, a man murdered his wife in that room, and her ghost haunts it. But these people were not ordinary. They were white all over, except for their eyes, which were red.”

Not only true stories, any scary story will do. I love a good ghost story, lol.
When my son was a baby, one of my friends was murdered. We hadn't heard the bad news yet and couldn't figure out why the baby kept looking at the corner of the ceiling, He kept looking no matter where we moved him and cooing and babbling at it. About 15 minutes later a friend showed up to let us know our friend was dead. I have always sworn that my friend was visiting us one last time.

i stayed at a haunted hotel once...an old rundown place here in town when we first moved here and hadn't found an apartment yet...just looking at the place is creepy LOL and the rooms are very tiny and old-fashioned (ie. antique/rundown)....now i dont mind ghosts in the least but i DO NOT like to be startled (same goes for mice)...and as soon as we got into our room and i was alone, i said out loud something like "i dont mind you here but please dont scare me" and nothing ever happened to me although the common shower in the hall was SUPER CREEEEPY like i was being watched taking a shower

when i lived up north, my sister did housekeeping for a hotel that my ex-husband managed...there was an old guy who lived (and chain smoked) in one of the rooms named Johnny who frequented the bar and drank all day...he was a harmless old guy who hit on all the girls including me and my sister...one day he passed away in his room and ever since then the smell of cigarette smoke has lingered in that room...like you go in to houseclean it and there will be fresh smoke in the air in the unoccupied room, i think my sister even saw fresh ashes in a tray although no one had stayed in that room...whatever she saw scared her so much she refused to clean that room alone anymore and i would go over and help her...ive smelled the smoke before in the room also...it didnt bother me...Johnny was harmless and i suppose he isn't any more threatening after death i wonder if he's still around...that was 10 years ago now and my ex-husband still runs the hotel....maybe i'll ask him if Johnny's still hanging around his old room

My hubby & I lived in 2 haunted places during our marriage.

The first one was a "house of ill-repute", which we didn't know when we moved in. 2 major crazy things happened:

1. My hubby came home late from his shift at the local lumber mill on a hot summer night. I was sleeping in the bedroom at the back of the apt. He took a cool shower, grabbed a beer & stretched out on the floor. He fell asleep only to be awakened by a naked woman spooning him! :-O
This woman was of slight build, which even when I'm in shape I'm not! H calls me "healthy peasant stock". And I was also ASLEEP IN THE BEDROOM!!

2. On a winter weekend, I had finished the dishes & they were drying on the drainboard. H, our cat at the time & I were in the living room watching tv. All the sudden there was a *BIG CRASH* in the kitchen. All the dishes I had just washed were on the floor! No one else in the apt., no windows open, no earthquake.
I also would hear what sounded like someone wearing cowboy boots walking the hard wood floors in the wee morning hrs. when everthing was still. But then again, it was a house of ill-repute. Go figure! ;-)

Our first motel management job was at a haunted motel. (*Note: We did NOT know this when we accepted the job.) The woman who built the motel originally died under very suspicious circumstances. She had a "boyfriend" who was a married, wealthy local man. According to my head house-keeper, who grew up in the town, she tried to break it off & he was not going to give her up. The weekend following her decision, she was found beat to death in her bathroom. He was a suspect, but being weathly & inlufencial in the community the investigation went nowhere.

1. A few months after we started working at the motel, I stumbled into the bathroom late at night & I SWEAR as soon as I clicked on the light, I swore I saw blood all over the bathroom!!! It was creepier than any slasher movie I ever heard of!

2. In the spring, I was planting some flowers (the motel was kind of sad looking) and I swore I saw a woman watching me from the office. I knew it wasn't possible. I was the only female there...all the staff had gone for the day & no guests had checked in yet. I kept seeing her when I was working on the property...when I was working on the grounds, when I was stocking the maids closets, when I was taking out the trash, etc.
This lead me to ask my head housekeeper what might be going on. I thought she'd think I was NUTZ. Nope, she just asked me what took me so long to ask! Next time I saw her, I called the woman by her name & told her not to worry that H & I would take good care of her place. She stuck around for about a month & then I never saw her after that. I thnk she finally found peace.

These are two of my favorites, I've heard them different places over the years, I don't take credit for writing them

THE DOCTOR

It was 1951 Berlin, the war was over. On a street corner, troops handed out rations to a large crowd. A woman was making her way towards the front of the crowd. Just after she received her rations a man in a trench coat, with a cane and blind glasses walked up to her.

He said "Ma'am, would you mind taking this letter to a friend of mine? It's getting late and I have to head home soon, so I don't worry the misses. Thanks you."

The woman thought, "he's blind, poor guy, and by the way he was dressed, probably a war vet. This address is on my way home, I guess I could take it.
The woman bustled her way out of the crowd and set off for home. Just as she got free of the crowd, the man who handed her the letter darted behind into an alley.

Except, he wasn't wearing his blind glasses or carrying his cane. The woman went to a nearby soldier and explained the situation. He agreed to follow her along with another soldier. They got to the house, and they told her to wait outside. They went in, and came running out a couple seconds later. They described to the woman that there were piles of limbs, torsos and heads in all different corners of the room, and there was blood everywhere. The woman, clearly shaken, fumbled to open the letter.

It read
"This is the last one I'm sending today"

THE LETTER HOME

An american soldier was kidnapped in Vietnam during the war. His mother hadn't gotten any letters from him in 6 months, and she was worried to death. Finally, one October day, a letter came. it read

"Dear Mom, I have been captured. Please do not worry or inform the government. I am treated well, fed often, and am enjoying my time to the best of my abilities. Oh, and make sure you give this stamp to Jimmy for his collection. -Love, Adam."

The mother was relieved and puzzled. Relieved he was okay, by wholly puzzled by the "Jimmy" part. Nonetheless she carefully ironed and peeled back the stamp. Underneath it, written in small, red letters it read
"they cut off my legs"

I love that "the doctor" one. So creepy.

This is one that I heard about a year a go, it happened to "a friend of a friend" called Hannah. She was a student in the same town as me, and one night at the beginning of the academic year, she went to the cinema with some of her friends. The weather was horrible (like it often is this time of year) and she lived slightly off-centre so she had decided to take her car.
After the film, they had a drink in the pub by the theatre. She left around eleven, because she had an early class in the morning. The parking lot was dark and abandoned by that time.

Spooky, right?

She drove a small red three-doors Peugeot, nothing fancy. As she approached her car, she noticed something strange.. On the back seat of her car sat an old lady. She must have been at least eighty years old. Hannah opened the door and asked the old lady what she was doing in her car. The lady explained that she had missed her bus, and decided to look for shelter as the weather had been so cold and wet. Hannah asked her how she had gotten into the car. There were no signs of break-in and the car was locked. The old lady got very confused and couldn't give a straightforward answer. Hannah was about to call the police to help the old lady out when she said "No need love, I'm fine. But would you be a dear and give me a ride home? There are no buses at this time of night, and I have a bad leg, you see." Hannah agreed to give the old lady a lift, as the address was on the way home anyway.
As they were driving home, Hannah chit-chatting with the old lady to make sure she was alright. At one point, Hannah turned her head to look at her passenger, and in profile, she could clearly see that the old lady had a huge, manly adam's apple. She was so shocked that she drove the car into the sidewalk and hit a light pole. The "old lady" immediately opened the door and escaped around the corner. Hannah called the police, shaking. When they arrived, they opened the trunk of her car and found.. a shovel and four garbage bags.

I didn't write this one but the first time I read it it gave me goosebumps, lol. I was a lot younger then though.

Once there was a a beautiful young girl who lived in a small town. Her parents had to go to town for a while, so they left their daughter home alone, but protected by her dog, which was a very large collie. The parents told the girl to lock all the windows and doors after they had left. And at about 8:00pm the parents went to town. So doing what she was told the girl shut and locked every window and every door. But there was one window in the basement that would not close completely.

Trying as best as she could she finally got the window shut, but it would not lock. So she left the window, and went back upstairs. But just to make sure that no one could get in, she put the dead-bolt lock on the basement door.

Then she sat down had some dinner and decided to go to sleep for the night. Settling down to sleep at about 12:00 she snuggled up with the dog and fell asleep.

But at one point, she suddenly woke up. She turned and looked at the clock...it was 2:30. She snuggled down again wondering what had woken her.....when she heard a noise. It was a dripping sound. She thought that she had left the water running, and now it was dripping into the drain of her sink. So thinking it was no big deal she decided to go back to sleep.

But she felt nervous so she reached her hand over the edge of her bed, and let the dog lick her hand for reassurance that he would protect her. Again at about 3:45 she woke up hearing dripping. She was slightly angry now but went back to sleep anyway. Again she reached down and let the dog lick her hand. Then she fell back to sleep.

At 6:52 the girl decided that she had had enough...she got up just in time to see her parents were pulling up to the house. "Good,"she thought. "Now somebody can fix the sink...'cause I know I didn't leave it running." She walked to the bathroom and there was the collie dog, skinned and hung up on the curtain rod. The noise she heard was its blood dripping into a puddle on the floor. On the floor written in blood was: HUMANS CAN LICK TOO.
