Default When does the scale change for you??

Hey all,

This might be a stupid question but...

I wanted to know does your body show your weight lose throughout the week or just *BAM*on day 7 ??? Ex, if I am losing 2 pounds this week,on day 3 should 1 pound lose already be showing on the scale??

I am doing everything that I should to show a lose this week. I am anxious to get over a hurdle in my weight lose. Do you weigh daily, several times a week, once a week? What is your schedule? Thanks!!!

My body is a bit weird- some months, I lose nothing for 2-3 weeks, then lose like 10lbs on the final week. Other months, I lose steadily, then stay/gain for a week, then lose a lot on TOM week. So I've learned not to trust the scale from day to day, because it will be good to me eventually

I try to only weigh myself once a week. If I see my weight fluctuating during the week, it just makes me feel like I'm not doing good enough.

But to answer your question, yes...I do see it throughout the week if I happen to weigh myself. I always do it in the morning, after I've gone to the bathroom.

I weigh myself every day and graph it. It's the trend over a month or six weeks that is important. I'm all over the map day-to-day depending on sodium and water intake as well as food, the type and intensity of exercise, and, maybe more than anything else, my regularity or lack thereof.

There is no rhyme or reason to it sometimes I see a loss every few days sometimes it may be a week and occasionally it may be one day. I don't try to figure it out I am just happy when I see a loss.
I do weigh daily.

I'm an obsessive weigher, a couple times a day most days, for 6 months now. So basically I've done EXTENSIVE research on this subject, lol. There is really no predictable pattern to it, other than it will always go up when TOM is near (or during) and if I'm sore from a workout. Other than that, there's no tellin' (for me anyway).

Don't let it make you too crazy... I try not to give my scale any "power" over me these days... I just try to do the right thing.... and then the next right thing follows... I keep my self talk in the affirmative.... so whatever the scale happens to say at that moment, I say right back "I WILL LOSE these next 2lbs. or next 5lbs. or whatever...." and keep on going...

Good luck with however you decide to handle it.... just remember, YOU WILL make over that next hurdle...

I am a daily night/morning weigher..i like to weigh in right before the shower in the evening....then again right away in the morning before I get dressed...I tend to see big drops, like yesterday morning I was at 183...last night before showering I was at 183...well guess what...when I weighed this morning I was at 181 2lbs less!

this is totally me. i weigh at least once a day. while the fluctuations do make me crazy, if im high one morning it motivates me even more to stay on plan that day. i typically notice a downward trend all week so i dont think my body lets go of it all at once.

i only record my weight on wednesday mornings, which sucks sometimes because this week i weighed less on tuesday mornings. i dont want to get too nutty over the fluctuations though.

Ok thanks all for the responses!! I want to get into the 250s really really bad. I am trying to cut down on my checking the scale so much. I might try to start checking every other day or every 3 days. If I wasn't so anxious I could probably do weekly. But thanks to ya'll I will calm down. I will weigh in "officially" on Sunday and then maybe reassess things.

I've gone so far as to putting my scale in our outside shed, complete with double locks, all the way on the top shelf, in a box. And I will still go get the key and get the scale out at least once a day. Once I had my husband hide it. But then I was like a kid on Easter morning searching for eggs. I FOUND IT. HA! There's no end to my dysfunction.

I would definitely encourage you to not weigh every day if you can (yes I'm a hypocrite), especially if it drives you mad.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who weighs in many times a day, including morning and night!

I weigh every morning, and then several times through the day, but I only pay attention to the morning number. When I'm consistent I usually drop about 2-4 pounds a week. Although this has been a record for me, I've consistently lost at least a pound a day for the past 9 days.

For me it just decides to happen one day. Not much I can do to influence which day except by keeping at it. I find taking measurements a lot more reliable, I always see changes there (if I've been working hard)

LOL wow I just went through this! I weigh myself multiple times a day, I am just so psycho about it. Had my family hide it til the end of the week. Only lasted from Sunday to Wednesday and I just needed it back. When I saw it in its' regular place I was SO excited! So lame lol.
