Hey Loves,
Quick note cause I have to go to work. Sorry that I've been away for so long. What happens is this...I subscribe to threads and then I only check in when I get that email that says....new message. Then I don't resubscribe when a new thread gets started and I get lost in the dust. And I've been so busy since I was sick so much this winter. Luckily I'm doing great now. Just running a book sale-bake sale at the kid's school this week and scheduled alot of clients too...I had to cancel so many appointments when I was sick and I'm still making up for lost time.
Miss all of you.
Didn't go back and read up on things. Will go back some when I have time.
Let me know the high points! or the low points if you've been losing. I gained alittle back being sick and have been missing gym time. Went three times in past two weeks and will try to get there two times this week.
My new trainer is really good.
Also, here's some news. I made an appointment to have my first consultation with the plastic surgeon about a boob reduction!!!
that is a motivator to lose weight cause as I said. don't want the belly to protrude past the boobies and want to have a nice healthy firmish body to match the new boobs when I get them.
Love to all and sorry again that I was gone for so long.
Love, Soozie
HEY SOOZIE!! Glad to see you back!! We've missed you sweetie. Hope you get caught up soon at work and at home!! I'm behind too, but without any good reasons for being so. I have been sleeping a lot (dealing with kids and anxiety about the war.) I now have 2 teenagers, since my younger son just recently turned 13. And he is REALLY putting me through the ringer!!! I can't stand being the fascist dictator parent when I haven't even resolved my OWN problems with authority!!!! On a positive note.....SPRING IS COMING AND I AM STARTING TO FEEL LIKE I CAN BREATHE AGAIN!!!!!
Thanks for the welcome back Den.
and yes,
this war is quite a depressing thing and I'm certain frightening for the kids.
I just keep praying and calling my senators and our president to let them know what I think about things. Hope that you all are doing the same. Calling your politicians and giving your opinion.
and yet, still, inspite of the state of things...it is Spring, as you said Den, and Spring is my favorite time of year and I'm ever hopeful.
I live in such a conservative area... and all my relatives are conservative. I have just been getting beaten up on my views about the war and it is wearing me down. Sometimes I start to wonder if I am completely off base in not supporting military action. Everyone here is part of the "I'm an American so I (blindly) support our president and the war" mentality. It makes me sick... there is just no respect for dissenting opinion.
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the
president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or
wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally
treasonable to the American public."
Theodore Roosevelt
We have to stick with what we believe is right. Whatever the heck that is.
Peace, baby.
Ellis: That Roosevelt quote was great! I know in my heart what is going on is wrong, but I feel I am having a hard time voicing my opinion clearly.
This was profoundly saddens me and I am angry too. It is unnecessary and perptrated by a warmonger. I fear if I voice this, people will not understand what I mean. Or I fear people will belittle me and try to out intellectuallize me. However, I know I am ok in my opinions and even if inarticulate, I am not stupid.
Soozie-YOU BET!! Calling, writing, signing.........we tried to get a peace Resolution passed here, but no go. Our 13 year old got up to speak to the commissioners in favor of the resolution! We are so proud of him!!
To ALL of you: YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO YOUR OPINIONS!!! Don't be afraid. YOU are the patriots, not those people who would take away your right to free speech.
For all of you who are feeling threatened or silenced, here is ANOTHER reason that we have to keep on speaking out:
"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."
Hey girls,
Long time no chat! Just thought I would drop in to say hello. There are more messages than I can read so I probably wont read them all. Wanted to let everyone know I am still alive, and doing well again. Have been through a few trials lately, but thats what makes us stronger right? Anyway I am back.
Hugs to everyone!
