I have a pair of size 18 corduroy pants that I was last able to wear about seven years ago. I have occasionally tried to get them on, but my gut was just too big and I couldn't button up and zip up. Just a few weeks ago I tried and could barely button and zip. So frustrating, and so hard to be patient.
Today after work, I went into the room where I keep the jeans that don't fit. I went in to try a pair of old size 16 jeans because the 18's in the same style fit me loosely now and I was hoping I was ready for the next size down. Sadly, they are still too tight.
I wasn't going to try the cords because I thought I was closer to fitting in the blue jeans than I was the cords. But I decided to try, just to see how much closer I was to having them fit. To my amazement, they went over my hips easily, and slid smoothly over the stomach. And I was able to button and zip! They are only slightly tight around the stomach, but not enough to be uncomfortable.
I can't believe they fit! They are so soft, they fit like PJ's. I am so excited! In fact, I think I will wear them tomorrow with a long-sleeve shirt that I have also had for years, that also finally fits. Who cares if they might be out of style? They fit!
Woo hoo
