Default Personal question

Hi! I am on my 3rd week of BFL and I feel great except for one thing. Does anyone else experience constipation on this program? It's NEVER been a problem for me before. I don't know if it's all the extra protein or what? I am eating at least one green salad today plus another veggie serving, not to mention 1 or 2 fruits a day, plus the fiber in oatmeal. I just don't get it. Anyone else have this problem and what can I do to fix it?

Default Mostly likely

it is the extra protein stopping you up. I would suggest adding lots of veggies to your meals (things like broccoli and lots of greens for extra fiber) and if that doesn't help than look into something like metamucil or a fiber powder.

My suggestion along with MORE veggies, romaine does me good, but also more water.

I find if I add beans as a carb that it helps alot..

Oh and welcome... Post away!!

How about you post your menu and we can see if you are getting enough fibre or not?

Thanks for all your advice. Here is a sample of a typical menu of mine. Any further advice would be great.

Meal 1: 1 egg/3whites, oatmeal (steel ground oats)
Meal 2: cottage cheese, fruit...usually and apple or banana
Meal 3: grilled chicken or fish, small baked potato, green salad
Meal 4: cottage cheese, yogurt
Meal 5: Grilled chicken or fish, small baked potato, green salad or other veggie
Meal 6: Myoplex shake

I'd suggest also throwing some physillum husk in that shake, if you have trouble getting all the fiber you need in w/food. On BodyRx, I will say that constipation is NEVER a problem..we often would spend time discussing how often we'd go a day! LOL

Hey Debbie!

You might also want to try adding chelated magnesium before bedtime. It's an important supplement anyway and it solves this problem.

I am getting 60g fiber on BRx so I don't have that problem. I used to do LC though and never had a problem then either because I was taking magnesium (not magnesium oxide).

Deb

P.S. Love the name!
