Default Went way off plan yesterday

as the title says, i did a 13 hour shift at work yesterday because someone phoned in sick, the shift involved a lot of work, but also cake, sausage rolls, chicken burgers and a chinese takeaway when i got home. i feel really guilty about it but am trying not to beat myself up too much, one bad day does not need to turn into two, or three, or a month of bad eating, as this is what has slipped me up before. back on plan today, no excuses!

You poor thing. I haven't been in that situation yet but i can empathise with you somewhat. Its great that you've taken a stand and not letting it affect the rest of the great efforts you've made so far and will in the future.

Everyone else will tell you that having a slip up no and again is all part of the journey and the experience. I think as long as you jump back on it a.s.ap it won't become a habbit. Which is obviously what you're doing. Keep going!!

The fact is the body is not a machine like many people believe, that "X" amount of fuel creates excess or deficit. That is part of it, but our bodies' survival mechanisms also come into play, that is why dieters hit plateaus, why those with imbalances in different systems can't lose, or can't gain etc.

Your body now feels like it has an abundance of fuel so eating less in the next few days will be more of a difference to those systems that regulate, so, you are perfectly poised to be right back on plan with more possible results.

Don't beat yourself up, EVERYONE SLIDES, it's not like you killed somebody, concentrate on all those times you didn't slip up and congratulate yourself, and know that those kinds of work hours are not good for you in many ways.
Good luck, you can do it!

You're thinking the right way! One day doesn't mean it will turn to two days. We will all have our bad days now and then so don't beat yourself up over it. Best of luck at getting back on track.
