Default The dreaded yoga pants/sweats uniform

I never really was a sweats/yoga pants kind of girl. Until I decided I wanted to start working out and I bought my first pair of yoga pants. Putting them on I thought "man, these feel preeetty comfy." So I started wearing them around the house, to the grocery store, for arrands and such. A few days later I was invited to go out to dinner and wore my jeans for the first time and they were terrible, as I my muffin top bulged over. After that without realizing it my jeans were pushed back to the back of the closet making room for the yoga pants. might I mentioned that I never actually wore them to excersise? Those damn things were just do nice to pull on and move around in that that's what I decided to start wearing almost everyday. Finally one day my boyfriend called me out on it...."why don't you wear jeans anymore?" why did I not wear jeans anymore? Because yoga pants were my easy way out from dealing with my muffin top!

And you know what?
As comfy as they are, as flattering as they are, I want to be able to fit in my jeans (or smaller ones heh) and feel comfortable and confident. Forget you yoga pants. I will fit in my jeans again!

I love yoga pants - I pretty much toss them on every night when I get home from work, AFTER a workout haha. The old navy ones are my fav. I now mostly wear the under armour leggings to workout and old navy yoga pants to "lounge around in". ..but I also remember at my heaviest peak, ALL I wore were yoga pants & sweatshirts because they fit and they stretched and I used it to cover how much weight I was gaining.

Breaking back into fitted clothes when I started losing weight was SUCH an accomplishment so your post completely speaks to me!! Good luck, I'm sure your jeans look ah-mazing on you too though!

Haha. Yeahhhhhhh the yoga pants. My official uniform. I finally decided (after about 2years in the uniform) to bite the bullet and go up a jean size ( last time ever!) and I actually slept in my jeans last night if you can believe it. It makes me feel better to have a couple of pairs that fit while I'm losing, so I can feel like I look okay instead of feeling gross everytime I squeeze into too-small jeans. I go with old navy, their bell bottoms flatter my figure. And the fat jeans I bought are already starting to get baggy. I also got a pair of these linen pants they have that are kind of a compromise. Fold over cloth waistband but lightweight, flow-y legs. Insanely comfy and you can dress them up for a casual dinner out or shopping trip.
Good luck getting into those jeans girl!

And a second on old navy yoga pants too! Lol. I should be a spokeswoman. Still. Their stuff is cheap, flattering and comfy. Can't beat it.

Gah, if only they weren't so COMFY! I'm actually wearing a pair of Old Navy yoga pants right now. I wear sweats/yoga pants around the house all the time, because why be dressed up for just me, you know? I generally don't leave the house in them, though, unless I'm going to work out. Sometimes I'll run errands in them if I'm headed to work out right afterward, but that's pretty rare.

I love lounge pants. But it wasn't until I started losing weight that I felt comfortable wearing them in public. I remember telling my boyfriend that I was finally skinny enough for sweats. He laughed at me.

Recently I discovered PajamaJeans from Pajamagrams. I don't sleep in them, but they are now my go to for lounging around.

Best part is, from about 3 feet away they look like jeans. My boyfriend thought I was wearing a pair of jeans until he touched my leg.

Yoga pants and leggings are lal I wear because they're all I HAVE. hahaha. I did have jeans, but they're too big now, and I look even more frumpy than when I wear my sweats. I really need to buy new ones, but my weight is changing and I don't want to waste money. Secretly I'm a little glad I have no jeans though hahaha.

You and me are pretty much the same, Misa66, I'll race you to goal! hehe

Another "yoga-pant" lover here! I wear them to exercise, sleep, lounge. Sometimes I might wear them to "run out to buy milk & eggs" real quick, but I would never wear them out in public otherwise. I actually get a kick out of whatever clothes I'm in the mood for. A jersey skirt with a cotton sweater & gladiator sandals; a cute sundress or a long bohemian skirt with a tank-top with flip-flops, or a pair of cuffed denim shorts with a cute t-shirt & wedges, etc. I truly enjoy being a girl and hip-hop'n to my own fashion statement

But OMG... "pajamajeans" - the mere thought of it just makes me cringe but I've heard they are very comfortable!

I wear yoga pants often and looooove them. I think they look okay too. I wear them to work because I work with young children and grew tired of dressing up to have my clothes ruined by paint or bleach (from sanitizing). So I do not wear stained clothing or faded clothing to work but I will not really expensive tops. I have 3 nice pairs of jeans for going out in. If I go out for dinner or the movies or whatever I wear jeans and a blouse. My yoga pants are for home, errands and work.

Yoga pants that are never worn for yoga are the housedresses of the twentyteens.

I have yoga pants in every color! They have matching lightweight jackets. (I found them on clearance for $5 for each whole set.) I wear them daily. Unless we are going out to dinner, the mall or movies when i would wear jeans and a nice top. I wear the yoga pants at home, for errands or exercising and sometimes even sleeping. I usually sleep in pajama pants.

I gained a good chunk of weight while wearing nothing but stretch pants. I guess it made the gains much less noticeable when they stretched right along with me. In fact, I got so big that I couldn't buy jeans off the shelf anymore! I'm 100 pounds down now and can wear jeans again, but am dying to get out of plus sizes.

Truth. And that's pretty much what I wear them for.

I only own one pair of yoga pants and they are too short for me so I actually only wear them when I am doing yoga here at the house. I do however where pajama pants at the house constantly. I have stolen a big comfy pair of my husbands loung pants. They are from REI and so soft and on the cold nights after getting home I pretty much always wear them. Definitely never wear them out of the house except the occasional quick sprint to the mail box.

I do have to say that I often end up stopping for groceries in running or workout cloths. My gym is right beside the grocey store and while I dont do my big weekly shopping trip in shorts or jogging pants, I do buy a few things on my way home. And i do it kinda often.
