I started using ********** replacing breakfast.. please anyone that wants to help please feel free to respond.. I'm also looking for someone who would want to be my online couch.. any takers?? lol
I'm new here also. I saw a thread for people who have 100 pounds to lose. You may want to check that thread out. There are so many good threads to look at. I suggest you take it slow, take one day at a time, set mini-goals, and chat with people on this site to stay motivated. Good luck!
ELLZBURY ~ I think that you know that you cannot lose 100 lbs fast; and if you lose weight too fast, you will just gain it back fast too! So, the wise thing to do-- is to find a reasonable & healthy plan, and just get started. Take a look around -- there are many threads/forums to choose from here; join in wherever you like ...
i'm in the 100lb club, too - i started on march 1st and trust me: there's no "fast" about it. i'm on a severely restricted calorie diet with medical supervision and i've still lost "only" 15lbs (which is a lot more than the dr projected).
don't make the scales your focus - make changing your lifestyle for a healthier one the focus. i don't have scales and the only reason i weigh in every week is cause the doctor makes me otherwise i'd leave it to biweekly or even monthly.
pick your strategy - diet only, exercise only, diet + exercise, some particular program such as IP or Atkins or WW or whatever - and just follow the steps. as your eating and activity habits improve, so will your appearance and ta-dah! you have a healthy physique again!
The results may not come as fast as you'd hope, but shifting your focus may help inspire you a little more and weight loss may be a little easier. I do know that building muscle is a great way to boost your basal metabolic rate, so adding a little bit of strength training may be a benefit. Muscle helps burn fat, so more muscle means more calories burned! Best of luck on your endeavors!
