Default SB Chat, Thursday 3-1

Good morning! am I really the first to post today's Chat? Lots of coffee for everyone then I was up earlier to deal with the snow...but we only got an inch or two overnight. More is coming down today though, I am glad I have the day off to keep up with shoveling

I was happy to find my store brand of nonfat, plain yogurt on sale yesterday, $2 for 32 ounces. I LOVE the greek yogurt so much more but it costs at least twice as much. So, I bought 3 containers of the cheaper stuff, and am draining it through coffee filters and a colander to make my own thick stuff I add the sugar-free Lemon jello and it tastes like lemon chiffon pie filling

I hope everyone has a great day!

Default SBD Chat for Thursday the first day of March (Like a Lion?)

Good morning and March is in like a bit of a gentle lion around here. I hear it was pretty vicious in some parts of the continent though. Tornadoes are scary!

We did get some snow and more is coming down. (I know this from personal experience as I took out the trash just now. ) School buses have been cancelled and I'm sure the kids will be delighted to be able to toboggan down the big hill out of town. I'm not quite so delighted as deck stairs shoveling will have to happen later.

Didn't do much yesterday except my morning meeting and a wee "nap" with Jazz. He believes in "active snuggling" and starts to burrow in and pat me with his paws the minute I start to fall asleep. that pup!

Today? Well, trash lugging was the only "must" but I'm sure I'll find something to fill my day. Yesterday I did plant ER and pruned back some of the plants around the house. Poor babies get neglected a lot. If anyone wants some ivy cuttings, I sure can supply them.

I'm also going to sit down and plan my back garden. I was reluctant to get involved in a community garden project but Liz convinced me. It's a shame to let all my back forty lie fallow so I will reserve a space for me and allow other folk in the village to plant. I have some reservations about this but realize it's for the good of the community. (The space is 50' by 300" so there's lots of room.)

So that's today's plan. Still have to figure out food but am leaning towards crack slaw.

What's happening in your neck of the woods?

Good morning, Holly. Yes, we're slow off the mark this morning. Cottage is usually in here early but I guess the "girlies" are keeping her busy. Thanks for mentioning straining yogurt. Greek yogurt is wickedly expensive here and only comes in 2% but I love it. I hope your snow shoveling isn't too onerous. I expect Richard will plough my lane later.

Good morning Holly and Ruth and all who follow

I've been working on cleaning out old emails this morning. Taking care of niggles and then hitting "delete." I hate clutter even in my inbox!

I can't believe it's March! So far the year has been a bust for me, diet-wise. I guess I need to stop blaming my inability to do any cardio and cut back on my eating. I really want/need to take off the bit I regained before some trips next month.

Off to yoga this morning. Then have some computer projects that need doing. Yesterday was a stressful, hectic day so I'm thinking I need some relaxing in a big way!

Good Morning

I'm still watching my internet KB's....

to all!

We're headed to Denver to accomplish needed "stuff". I'm out of smoothie ingredients and the local store doesn't have much in the way of organic. There's just no demand here. We'll hit Costco for our combined BD present, the TV we've been looking at, do our banking and stop at Whole Foods for groceries and lunch (OP) yea!

Have a great day everyone!

Morning all!

Holly - Thanks for getting us started! My, that *is* late for these gals. I'd still be sleeping NOW if I had any say!

Ruth - Glad the weather is calm there. We had a LOT of rain yesterday and through the night but no tornadoes.

Karen - have a great time at Yoga.

Debbie - What kind of smoothie?

As for me, I am back in the grind of things. I lost 5 pounds in February, which is great. I think I am going to get back to the gym this weekend. The knee is feeling better to at least do a little more walking.

Have a great OP day!

Good mid-morning! I've had several cups of coffee so I'm having a cup of tea right now.

My car started making a disturbing noise and loud vibrations yesterday when I went to fetch the girls from school. Luckily, there's a car repair place near the school, and after they looked at it, they advised me to take it to my dealer, as they aren't too familiar with Mitzubishi's. So I took it in first thing this morning and am waiting to hear back. Also keeping my fingers crossed that it's not too costly of a fix! In the meantime, I'm driving Cindy's car, so at least I'm not without transportation.

I hope you are all safe from those deadly tornadoes yesterday. We just had a steady downpour all day, and the first day of March is coming in like a lamb.

Take care and have a great OP day!
