Default Realization

I don't know why I haven't realized this before now, but I have been overweight my entire adult life. So, for 8 1/2 years. The thought that I have never been healthy as an adult freaks me out for some reason. It's pretty motivating actually. Hopefully I can take that motivation and run with it.

Never too late to be healthy! I spent my high school and early college years overweight....I felt the same way. Looks like your well on your way to reaching your goal!

I was overweight all my life, I didn't really have a starting point a.k.a. 'if only I looked like this again' so yeah, exactly. It should be motivating because you know how you want to look. That was actually a reality for you at one point. I was always curious as to what the girl in the mirror would look like once she was thin but you already know

It is possible that you are still healthy, even weighing what you currently weigh.

I think it's a mistake to assume you can't be healthy unless you are at some arbitrary scale number.

Not saying you aren't overweight/obese--or that you shouldn't try to get to a lower weight than you're at now. Certainly you can become healthiER by lowering your weight, because that will also lower your risk for developing some illnesses. But, people can be healthy or unhealthy at any weight. I think we've all seen people who looked sickly even though they weren't overweight.

It's a minor point--just a different way of looking at it. Getting enough exercise and watching what we eat always helps us stay healthy.

Good luck!
