Default eating out of boredom

I'm bored and grumpy, and hubby and I are arguing. This is the kind of mood thats gonna sabotage me.
I know I'm not hungry, but I feel like eating for the **** of it. And not something good.
To top it off the movie Im watching has food, food and more food and every commercial in between is for food!
Aaack!

Quick, brush your teeth or chew some gum! Realizing you aren't hungry is a huge step

Very good idea!
Nothing tastes good after you brush your teeth.

I also highly suggest going out for a walk if you can, especially if you're feeling angry or frustrated - might help clear your head and a little extra calorie burn would be nice!

I always automatically go to the Goal forum here and look at the before/after pictures. That stops me from eating those damn chips I always wants!

I was a boredom eater. I found that drinking water helps instead A nice, big tall glass of water!

Well, you recognize it is not hunger but emotional eating.

Why not address the actual problems instead of eating them to stuff it away or avoid dealing with it?

Bored = find something to do. Print a craft and make it. http://cp.c-ij.com/en/

Read a book.

Learn something new. Go make a sugar scrub and give yourself a facial.

What are your hobbies?

Argument with hubby -- think about it, make lists, learn online about conflict resolution, come up with compromises and go talk to hubby and work it out.

If the argument is the main thing triggering this emotional eating stint, that's where I'd start.

A.

First thing is turn off the TV.

Why would you watch all that food if you are trying to resist cravings?

Find something else to do, brush you teeth, and make a change.

I agree with DesertTabby, I think the suggestion of taking a walk is a great idea.

If you can't get out of the house (for whatever reason) at that moment when you are about to lose it, you might like to get rid of any frustration by doing a workout video. I find Billy Blanks Tae Bo or Bootcamp workouts are terrific for burning off some steam plus you get to do punches and jabs - awesome! (not to mention feeling great afterwards).
