hey guys
this is my first post as i am a forum newbie but really need some support from people in the same situation as me. this is the first time im dieting at uni and it has really bugged my flat mates that im doing it, yesterday they alikened my diet and exercise to starvation or anoerexia which is absolutely rediculous! ive set a new challenge to get fit for my first 10k in june and see diet and exercise as the healthiest way to do it but they just see it as a big joke! why do people try and ruin the new healthy changes in my life?
thanks sorry for ranting
Welcome to these boards! and great that you are trying to live healthier. Maybe you can tell us what your dietplan is? What makes your roommates think it's excessive?
Also - if you KNOW you are being healthy then just ignore them. It might be best if they are not acting very supportive of it that you just don't involve them in it. Don't talk about it a ton, don't explain what you are doing. Just keep it with the global "living a bit healthier and hoping to run a 10k someday". People can be quite spiteful because it's confronting to see others show self discipline and making the choices they'd maybe want to make themselves but arent able to.
Focus on what you want, and just ignore them or tell them it is your business and you'd appreciate if they wouldn't judge so harshly.
If you're doing things the healthy way, just don't talk about it with your roommates if they can't be supportive! It's so much easier and you avoid stressing yourself out!
Heya thanks guys!
