I was wondering, for those of you taking Xenadrine EFX , are you following any type of a structured diet or just eating when hungry and how it is working for you.
Considering this myself. Had tried the orginal Xenadrine and got headaches that I couldnt deal with.
Hope to hear from all, since I have alot to lose - about 80 lb. All help is needed.
I really hope that with a good amount of weight to lose, that you will reconsider taking the pills, and do it with diet and exercise alone. The cons to these products far outweigh the pros, and they have potentially dangerous side effects. People who do lose weight with the use of pills also have a harder time keeping off the weight than those that do it alone. I know when you have a lot of weight to lose that you are willing to try anything, but pills like those you have, as well as Metabolife, and any other pills that contain ephedra, ephedrine, or Ma-Huang (all the same thing, just a different name) have the potential of causing heart palpitations/racing heart, and the possibility of cardiac problems or stroke. A lot of these combine that ingredient with caffiene (sometimes called Kola Nut or something else) with it for even more punch. All it is basically is legal speed. I hope you will do some research on the main ingredient in these products, as your health is the most important thing that you have, and the main goal should be to get fit and keep that weight off in a healthy manner, not losing as fast as you can and maybe jeapordizing you health.

As you can see at the company website (do a Google search) Cytodyne is phasing out the 'ephedra' version of Xenadrine, as are most supplement companies out there - getting rid of their ephedra based products. This isn't due to the FDA for the most part - rather, it's a financial thing. The companies' liability insurance carriers are raising their insurance premiums quite substantially so you'll find that most of the ephedra-based 'fat burners' will be reformulated over the next few months. In fact, Hydroxycut has now started a huge advertising campaign to promote their 'new improved' ephedra-free version.
Personally I've seen too many instances of people who use these pills (which I personally think of as 'herbal speed') and lose weight have a huge rebound once they stop taking them and put a good deal of weight back on. Lots of folks I know take them to 'wake up' in the morning. You're much better off just drinking a cup of black coffee IMO!
Actually if you check out the latest issue of Glamour (Feb 2003) there's a pretty good article in there about ephedra. Personally I think that all those fat burners are overblown and overhyped!
I personally would much rather lose the weight a little slower, and know that I am more likely to keep it off, and that I am not possibly damaging my health in the process-whether they have ephedra in them or not. When a certain chemical in a diet product starts getting bad media due to possible health risks, they just find another chemical to put in them and remarket it as something else.
I agree that they are all herbal speed as well.
