Smile Eating Clean for Halloween!!

I've been hesitant to make any extreme statements or commitments, but the time has come.
I'm setting my sights on an October with NO CANDY at all.
For me, there is no such thing as moderation and sugar, and I'm convinced that starting the sugar ball rolling now will have it rolling right over me through out the entire Holiday Season.

I want to keep losing weight in the next three months, not gaining.

That means no candy. That means focus.

Anyone who wants to join me... C'mon!!

I have a kind of silly page on my blog just for this month with my "Pledge" and special posts.
Visit me there or here and let's get each other through this month with flying colors!!!

This is awesome! I was just thinking this today.

I pledge to not have any candy this Halloween!

I'm taking the pledge too!! I want to end the month in Onederland (see my Halloween ticker!) and to get there, I know I have to stay 100% on plan.

For some reason, candy isn't a downfall for me, but I'm reallllly hoping to get to my goal this month. That would be so amazingly wonderful!

Yeah, I'm so happy to see you all here!
My next step is to get every last scrap of the sugary stuff out of the house. I've informed my husband already.

SoftSpeaker: How was your first October Weekend? I've had to deal with skittles (which I don't even particularly like and still tempted me...) and m&m's... I'm doing okay so far. I can already see that it will take constant re-commitment, which I'm okay with.

April Snow: Onederland, here you come!!!! Congratulations!! I want to be solidly in the "teens" or maybe singles. My next big push will be Onederland. My goal is before Christmas. I know I can do it, I just can't waste any time and I sure can't gain at all. Never again. What is the diet you've been on? I never heard of that. It sure seems to be effective and pretty quick.

berryblondboys: You've done such an amazing job already! I really hope you get to your goal. I can only imagine (and I often do) how wonderful that will feel. Lucky girl not to have "candy issues". Is that all chocolatey, sugary things or just candy that doesn't really tempt you?

One thing I'm doing really well so far and intend to continue is exercising. It is the single best defense I have against candy or any "off plan" temptations. Even if I just get in a shorter workout, it seems to help.

Good luck to all of us!!

I'm having candy. Reese's PB cups are fun. And those small packets too. Will not eat anything but celery all day. Will have candy in the evening. I think if I maintain my diet for another 29 days straight, one day shouldn't hurt....

Treepeters So far so good! Though when I went to buy groceries I saw aisles and aisles of halloween candy and chocolate! My friend and I want to have a Halloween party later in the month so I think that'll be the toughest. Hopefully I can find some healthy, and fun halloween recipes to make so I can keep my mind off all the sweets

work days will be my hardest, there are tons of treats all around ALL the time right now because it's part of a fund raising activity we do in my office - everyone brings in food and treats to sell to raise money.

I just have to think about my goal, and remind myself that candy will be here next year too and when I am at my goal weight, I do get to add back in a moderate amount of treats. But for now, getting to my goal weight is more important to me than the momentary enjoyment of some candy. I'm not saying I can never have it again, just not right now.

Hi Bee!!
How fun seeing you here! I love imagining you screaming NO at your husbands suggestion.

MustardFan: I was thinking that one day isn't a problem either. This focus for me is really about the whole month. I can get started and not stop day after day. It ends up with me eating candy for breakfast... Chocolate mostly.

SoftSpeaker: I'm not sure what kind of recipes you mean, but we made a mummy meatloaf last year. It was fun. I just saw something else in a magazine.... another mummy I think, but it was little french bread pizzas I think.... Let me know if you find anything fun and I'll do the same. I've started baking gluten free and will make some cookies or something for my family. I'll still avoid eating them. But, I may have a treat on Halloween loophole.

April Snow: The work situation you describe would be so hard for me too. But you're absolutely right about candy being there after you're at goal!! I try to remind myself of that all the time.
I don't look ahead to a life with no treats... I look ahead to being at goal and when I splurge on treats, I workout a bit extra and keep myself at my fit weight.

Urgh, I've been trying to eat clean, but I've been tempted too much by chocolate. I had cookies today. So I pledge to give up the sweets this October, starting now.

How is everyone doing keeping the pledge?

I had horrible PMS cravings a couple of weeks ago and gave in to a couple of fun sized bags of M&Ms but other than that, I've been good and have avoided all of the tons and tons and tons of stuff that has been around my office, plus I haven't raided any of the candy my son has already started to collect at the Halloween events he's already been to.
